British tourist found dead in Crete swimming pool as three arrested
A 21-year-old lifeguard is one of three people arrested on suspicion of manslaughter by negligence

A British pensioner has been found dead in a hotel swimming pool in Crete. The 78-year-old woman was said to be cooling off in the hotel pool at Hersonissos when she became unwell.
The is reported to have been pulled from the water and given emergency first aid but was unable to be saved. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Three people have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter by negligence. According to The Mirror a 21-year-old lifeguard and two hotel bosses, aged 41 and 51, were taken into custody.
According to reports in local media all three have since been released on bail. This is the latest tragedy to affect holidaymakers in Greece this summer.
Just weeks ago a British tourist was found dead on a sun lounger on a popular Greek beach. The 74-year-old was discovered unconscious on Stalis Beach by others at the resort.

Despite attempts to save him by emergency services their efforts were unsuccessful. Reports at the time said it was believed he had been swimming then returned to the sun lounger where it is understood he had a "strong feeling" of sickness shortly before his death.
Days later, a young girl was found dead on a busy beach by a passer-by. The youngster, who is thought to have been around two or three years old, was found on Eden Beach in Paleo Faliro, near Athens.
She was taken to the Agia Sofia Children's Hospital via ambulance. Doctors there pronounced her dead.
