Former NFL offensive lineman hints that he's willing to unretire and return to the 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers looked outmatched in their Saturday night battle with the Denver Broncos that resulted in a 30-9 loss despite Kyle Shanahan's team holding a 9-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. San Francisco's first possession of the game was eight plays for 71 yards and was capped off by a Patrick Taylor touchdown run to put them up 7-0. Their following 11 drives went no where, with three interceptions and a lost fumble thrown in. While there's plenty of blame to spread around, some 49ers fans really focused on the offensive line, with one social media user actually reaching out to former 49ers offensive lineman Jonathan Feliciano during the game to ask him to help out. Interestingly, Feliciano responded and said "Tell John [Lynch] to call me." Feliciano, 33, spent 10 seasons in the NFL, including stints with the Oakland Raiders (2015-18), Buffalo Bills (2019-21) and New York Giants (2022). He finished his career with two years in San Francisco, but after starting seven games for the team in 2023, he missed all of 2024 with an injury and announced his retirement in February. There was a real chance that Feliciano could've played a significant role on their offensive line last year had a knee injury not ended his season before it began. And, with some still wondering if Ben Bartch is the 49ers best option at left guard, Feliciano could challenge for the position if he came back in good shape. Another social media user asked if he'd take a phone call from Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane as well, and he simply confirmed that he would. That seems to indicate that he's truly mulling a comeback for the right opportunity, and if San Francisco is looking for talented players with the experience in the system, they may not find a better guy at this point in the year than article originally appeared on Niners Wire: Did former 49ers' OL Jon Feliciano hint that he's willing to unretire?
