'Get onboard or get rolled over' watch 2026 4-star WR announce his recruitment shutdown
'Get onboard or get rolled over' watch 2026 4-star WR announce his recruitment shutdown On Saturday, Texas A&M made significant progress with two of the program's 12 commitments in the 2026 recruiting class, as four-star running back Jonathan Hatton and four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory re-affirmed their commitments with the program, and officially shut down their recruiting, which is beyond big news for the future of the program. Both players are considered elite in their respective positions. At the same time, Gregory's rise this offseason, evident in several camp appearances, resulted in the Texas Longhorns making a late push. Still, thanks to the work from Texas A&M assistant coaches, including running back coach Trooper Taylor and wide receiver coach Holmon Wiggins, one of the top playmakers in the high school ranks has found his future home in College Station. What has become a trend with almost every high-profile 2026 visitor this weekend, Gregory and Texas A&M's social media team put together one of the coolest videos detailing his official visit, revealing that he will not take any future visits outside of Texas A&M. On the field, Gregory is one of the twitchier athletes who possesses the speed to burn corners in man coverage. At the same time, his elite athleticism and quick footwork make him a candidate for early playing time as soon as his 2026 freshman season. Combined with Jonathan Hatton and four-star cornerback Victor Singelton, Gregory is the highest-rated prospect in Texas A&M's 2026 cycle. He will continue to rise heading into his final senior season in Georgia. According to 247Sports Composite, Gregory is the 66th-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the 8th-ranked wide receiver, and the 7th-ranked prospect in Georgia. Texas A&M's 2026 recruiting class rises in the rankings after recent commitment
Texas A&M's 2026 recruiting class rises in the rankings after recent commitment Texas A&M's 2026 recruiting class has begun to receive the national attention it deserves after former Oklahoma commit and four-star running back Jonathan Hatton committed to the Aggies over the Sooners on Saturday afternoon during his visit to College Station. After losing three commits over the past two months, head coach Mike Elko hasn't wavered, understanding that this is just part of the process and that the next three months of future visits will determine the Aggies' complete 2026 cycle. After Hatton's commitment, Texas A&M's 2026 class in its early stages has risen in the overall rankings. In 247Sports' latest 2026 class rankings, A&M's class rose three spots to 6th overall, composed of eight four-star commits, tied with No. 2 Clemson. After hosting over a dozen 2026 and 2027 prospects this weekend, national recruiting analysts, including Rivals insider Sam Spiegelman, believe Mike Elko and his staff are on the right track to land the No. 1-ranked class when it's all said and done. Out of the prospects who visited this weekend, five-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho and five-star OL/DL Lamar Brown were back in College Station for the second time. Texas A&M gains commitment from elite 2026 4-star RB out of Cibolo (TX)
Texas A&M gains commitment from elite 2026 4-star RB out of Cibolo (TX) Texas A&M's 2026 recruiting class gained its ninth commitment in the cycle, as four-star running back Jonathan Hatton chose the Aggies over the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday afternoon during his visit to College Station. Head coach Mike Elko and running back coach Trooper Taylor deserve credit for pulling off one of the more significant additions of the offseason. Amid a busy recruiting weekend, Hatton's announcement took center stage, as the talented back is the first running back to join the Aggies' 2026 cycle, and after a brief interview with Rivals insider Sam Spiegelman, Hatton sounds like a player who has found his future his permanent collegiate home. 'There's no other direction for them but up' While some may disagree, Texas A&M's football future is much better despite finishing 1-4 after starting 7-1 and 5-0 in SEC play last season. Any future improvement starts with recruiting elite talent. With OC Collin Klein calling plays, the running back position is almost as important as a quarterback. Hatton is an elite prospect with the speed, power, footwork, and cutting ability to thwart defenders at the second level, leading to his career-high in yards (1,229) and 20 touchdowns on the ground. He averaged nearly 10 yards per carry during his 2024 junior season. According to 247Sports Composite rankings, Hatton is currently positioned as the 75th-ranked prospect in the cycle, the 5th-ranked running back, and the 10th-ranked prospect in Texas.
