‘The Sandman' Showrunner Still Maintains 2 Seasons Was the Plan All Along
The Netflix series based on the comic co-created by the recently controversial Neil Gaiman returns for its two-part final season in July. Hollywood is no stranger to doing damage control when a creative person does or is accused of something so distressing it affects the projects they're associated with. Think Ezra Miller, Jonathan Majors, or Neil Gaiman—the latter being a particularly notable case because when he was first hit with sexual abuse allegations, which he has denied, he was involved with multiple TV series. That includes two much-loved titles: Good Omens on Prime Video and The Sandman on Netflix. Good Omens' solution was to have Gaiman, co-author of the original novel and showrunner/creator of the series, first step back from being involved with production on what had already been confirmed as the show's third and final season. Then, it was announced that in lieu of a full third season, the Amazon show would close out its story with a single 90-minute special. The situation is a little different with The Sandman. After a very well-received first season, the show was renewed in 2022 and a Netflix press release shared at the time promised 'the Sandman world will continue to expand' with 'with more episodes and stories to be adapted from multiple Sandman graphic novels.' The announcement didn't specify how many seasons that might include. However, in late January 2025, Netflix confirmed season two would be The Sandman's final outing. In a Variety story released at that time, showrunner Allan Heinberg shared a statement that read in part: 'The Sandman series has always been focused exclusively on Dream's story, and back in 2022, when we looked at the remaining Dream material from the comics, we knew we only had enough story for one more season.' In April, fans learned that The Sandman's two-part final season would arrive in July, wrapping up the show for good. In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Heinberg re-emphasized his earlier claim that two seasons of Sandman was something the team had been planning around for some time: 'It was a decision we made three years ago.' He framed Netflix's announcement, made at the height of Gaiman-adjacent negative press, that The Sandman would return for a second and final season as 'unfortunate timing, for sure.' He told the magazine the Gaiman stories started to hit just as The Sandman was close to finishing production and moving into postproduction. 'I can't say that it affected our process, which is scheduled years in advance,' Heinberg said. 'It's been in the periphery of my experience and the background of my experience, but it hasn't been part of the world of the making of the show, if that makes sense. Every production is its own little island.' The Sandman season two drops its first block of episodes July 3, with the final block arriving July 24.

Jonathan Majors Set To Star in a New Action Movie TRUE THREAT — GeekTyrant
Jonathan Majors is set to star in director Gerard McMurray's upcmong action movie True Threat . The movie follows Special Forces operative 'Vernon Threat' (Majors) 'as he embarks on a relentless quest for justice after his teenage son is murdered by a Harlem gang known as The Apollo Kids. 'Determined to take revenge, Threat infiltrates The Carter, a towering 20-story project building that serves as the gang's stronghold, battling his way to the top floor to confront their leader and his former mentor, 'Shallow.'' The movie is said to combine 'gripping action with deep themes of fatherhood, brotherhood, and community responsibility, True Threat promises to deliver a culturally urgent and relentlessly kinetic experience.' True Threat is being produced by CAT5, the action-focused film label launched by Alexis Garcia last year with the backing of Fifth Season. CAT5's first release is the David Ayer-directed Working Man with Jason Statham will be released this weekend. McMurray directs from a script he co-wrote with Hodge K. Johnson, and the movie is said to 'prominently feature 52 Blocks, a Black American martial arts style, making it the first major film to showcase the discipline.' This new come shortly after it was announced that Majors would star in the revenge thriller Merciless, directed by Martin Villeneuve. I'm surprised that Majors is making a comeback after being convicted of sexual assault. there are a lot of other people that have been blacklisted in Hollywood, who are still stuggling who weren't even convicted. Why the next two Avengers movies won't be in cinemas anytime soon
Marvel Studios has delayed the release of the next two instalments in the Avengers franchise - Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Avengers: Doomsday has been moved from May 1, 2026, to December 18, 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars is now scheduled for December 17, 2027, instead of May 7, 2027. The Devil Wears Prada 2 will take the original May 1, 2026 slot. The delays follow rewrites and recasting for Doomsday after Jonathan Majors' assault conviction.

Given just how much money Deadpool 3 made at the box office, the latter feels pretty much inevitable. Of course, it's important to take this rumored script with a grain of salt. Marvel's security is notoriously tight, so an entire draft leaking would be a shock. It's also important to note that we're on the eve of April Fool's Day, in which plenty phony reports arrive online. But while anticipation is building for what's to come with Doomsday, there are countless questions about what The Kang Dynasty would have brought us. When the Creed III actor was fired from the MCU, fans originally debated who could replace Majors as Kang. But instead it seems like the studio is pivoting away from that plot altogether, despite the character's status as the Big Bad being teased throughout Ant-Man 3 and two seasons of Loki. This alleged leak comes shortly after Marvel announced the cast of Avengers: Doomsday during a long live stream. Fans are finally getting some idea about what might happen in the movie, although the question of what might have occurred in The Kang Dynasty is still in the air. So this possible draft will likely get a ton of eyes on it, especially considering the inclusion of Spider-Man and Deadpool.
