Police: Tracing movements of missing Briton led to Bangsar body discovery

KUALA LUMPUR: A police search for a missing Briton at a partially under construction condominium along Lorong Maarof in Bangsar led to the discovery of decomposed body there. Brickfields police chief Assistant Commissioner Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood confirmed that police had traced the movements of the missing man — Jordan Johnson-Doyle — to the condominium about 4pm today. "We then launched a search of the entire building with a team comprising at least 30 policemen. "At around 5pm, a body was discovered in a partially submerged elevator shaft in a part of the building that was still under construction," he told reporters at the scene today. He said, however, it was too early to determine the identity of the body. Ku Mashariman said further action would be taken at the University Malaya Medical Centre pathology unit to identify the body as well as the cause of death.

Police Ask Public For Information To Help Locate These Missing Individuals

Reports of missing persons are often linked to broken families, disputes among friends, or, in some cases, circumstances far more sinister than we can imagine. Cases of suspected abduction should never be taken lightly, as swift action can be crucial in saving a life. In recent weeks, the number of missing persons reports has risen at a worrying rate, prompting police to appeal to the public for any information that could aid investigations. The cases range from a girl as young as 14 to tourists who vanished while backpacking across Malaysia. Here are some of the urgent cases currently highlighted by the authorities: 1. Pamela Ling Datin Seri Pamela Ling Yueh was last seen on 9th April 2025 at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters in Putrajaya. What started as a routine attendance as a witness assisting the MACC turned into a full-blown police investigation as reports claimed that the 42-year-old businesswoman was intercepted by three vehicles en route to Putrajaya. The particulars of the case show that Ling and her husband have been under the investigation of the MACC for alleged corruption and money laundering since May 2024. 2. Angel Ho Kha Suen Last seen at Taman Asia Tenggara, Jalan 21/33, Seapark at 2 PM on 15th May 2025, 14-year-old Suen was reported missing on 19th May to authorities and still remains missing to this day. The teenager was described as having fair skin and mixed Chinese-Indian features, 160 centimetres tall, with straight brown hair down to her waist. Authorities are urging members of the public to come forward with any information regarding her whereabouts. 3. Jordan Johnson-Doyle A 25-year-old British tourist, Jordan Johnson-Doyle, was reported missing after a night out at a bar in Bangsar on 27th May 2025. According to The Daily Mail (UK), Johnson-Doyle was on a solo tour of Southeast Asia and had been backpacking across the region prior to his disappearance. His last known location was Healy Mac's Irish Bar in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, where he had reportedly taken part in a pub quiz — as confirmed by a photo he sent to his mother. She added that his 'Find My iPhone' app last pinged at a nearby residential building, but the signal stopped on 30th May, likely when the phone battery died. To report relevant information on these cases, please head over to your nearest police station or call the relevant district police offices to channel information to the authorities. 03-22829813/03-22832222 (Bangsar Police Station), 03-79662222 (Petaling Jaya District Police Headquarters) and 03-88862222 (Putrajaya District Police Headquarters). Police record witness statements in search for missing British backpacker

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have recorded statements from two witnesses as part of their ongoing investigation into the disappearance of 25-year-old British backpacker Jordan Johnson-Doyle. Brickfields police chief Assistant Commissioner Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood said the missing man's father lodged a police report yesterday. "A thorough investigation is currently underway," he said. Earlier, police launched a public appeal following Johnson-Doyle's last known contact on May 27. His mother, Leanne Burnett, 44, told the UK's Daily Mail that she felt "numb" and "just wants to bring him home". His last known location was Healy Mac's Irish Bar in Bangsar at around 8pm, where he had sent a photo of the pub's quiz night poster to his best friend, Owen. Johnson-Doyle, a software engineer, had been backpacking across the Mediterranean and Southeast Asia for over a year while working remotely for an American company. He arrived in Malaysia on May 17, after travelling through Vietnam, and is believed to have been staying at the Robertson Residences in Bukit Bintang. Burnett last spoke to her son on Monday 26. The family has reported him missing to police in England, contacted the British Consulate and Malaysian police, and alerted his employer.

UK mission helping family of Briton missing in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: The British High Commission has confirmed that it is helping the family of a United Kingdom citizen reported missing while travelling alone in Malaysia. "We are supporting the family of a British man reported missing in Malaysia," a high commission spokesman said. It was reported that Jordan Johnson-Doyle, 25, was last heard from on Tuesday. He was believed to have been at Healy Mac's Irish Bar in Bangsar here about 8pm on Friday, when he sent a photo of the pub's quiz night poster to a friend. He has not been heard from since. Johnson-Doyle's mother, Leanne Burnett, 44, told the UK's 'Daily Mail' she was devastated by his disappearance and is preparing to fly to Malaysia to search for him. Burnett said their last conversation was on May 26 and that it had seemed entirely normal. She added that if Johnson-Doyle had lost his phone or laptop, he would have found another way to make contact. Using the "Find My iPhone" app, she traced his phone to a block of flats near the bar early on Wednesday, but the signal stopped updating soon after, and the phone has since gone offline. Repeated calls and social media messages have gone unanswered. Johnson-Doyle, a software engineer, had been travelling across the Mediterranean and Southeast Asia for over a year while working remotely for a United States-based tech company. He arrived in Malaysia on May 17 after a stop in Vietnam and was believed to be staying at the Robertson Residences in Bukit Bintang here. The family has reported him missing to police in England, contacted the British Consulate and Malaysia authorities, and notified his employer. Attempts to obtain information from his hotel have been complicated by language barriers. Friends and relatives have launched a coordinated search online, sharing his details across social media and Malaysian websites. The 'New Straits Times' has also contacted the city police for details on the case.

British man missing in KL since May 27, UK media reports

PETALING JAYA: A British man, Jordan Johnson-Doyle, 25, has been missing in Kuala Lumpur since last Tuesday (May 27) after his family failed to contact me, the UK Daily Mail has reported. He was last seen in Healy Mac's Irish Bar in Bangsar at 8pm when he sent his best friend Owen a photograph of the pub's quiz night poster. The software engineer has been on a solo trip to the Mediterranean and Southeast Asia while working remotely for about a year and a half now. He arrived in Malaysia on May 17 and was believed to have been staying at Robertson Residences Bukit Bintang in Kuala Lumpur. Jordan's mother, Leanne Burnett, 44, worried and anxious about bringing him home, said they have been trying to get in touch with him via phone and social media. His phone is said to have gone dead in the city area last Friday. According to Burnett, based on the 'Find my iPhone' tracking service, the phone was located at a residential flat near the Irish-themed bar last Wednesday. Leanne had been consistently checking up on her son and the tracking service before she slept and after waking up in the morning. Leanne had spoken to him on Monday, May 26, talking about their usual work matters and expressed that he sounded normal. The family has also since contacted the British Consulate and police in Malaysia for assistance. Follow us on our official WhatsApp channel for breaking news alerts and key updates!
