Report: Former Browns top pick plans to skip season

BEREA, Ohio (WKBN) – Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports is reporting that former Cleveland Browns left tackle Jedrick Wills is planning to sit out most, or possibly all, of the upcoming season to fully recover from a knee injury he suffered last season. Read next: Woman arrested for OVI thanks police for 'saving her life' Wills was originally selected by Cleveland with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Wills, who is currently a free agent, has received interest from multiple teams, according to the report. However, he reportedly believes taking this time off is the best move for the long-term future of his career. The 26-year-old played in just five games during the 2024 season due to injury. Wills appeared in 58 total games during his time with the Browns. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed.

ESPN breaks down trade rumors surrounding Falcons TE Kyle Pitts

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts has been the subject of trade rumors over the last few days. With the former No. 4 overall pick entering the final year of his rookie contract, multiple teams have reportedly reached out to the Falcons to check Pitts' availability. On Friday, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that Atlanta is seeking at least a Day 2 pick as compensation for the 24-year-old. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler added some additional context on Saturday. Advertisement "If Atlanta gets the right kind of a deal for Kyle Pitts, it very well could come together," said Fowler. "I don't think it's a situation where they're aggressively shopping him but it appears, talking to some other teams that think Atlanta is at least open to the possibility and Pitts might be as well." Fowler went on to explain that while Pitts is open to a trade, he's still loves Atlanta and isn't requesting to be moved. "I'm told he loves Atlanta," continued Fowler. "This is not a situation where he's requesting a trade. But if he has a chance to go to maybe a better offense where he's more featured -- he's kind of a third or fourth wheel in Atlanta -- could be something that he's open to." The Falcons probably aren't desperate to move Pitts unless they get an offer they can't refuse. Pitts lived up to massive expectations as a rookie, racking up over 1,000 receiving yards, but he struggled to match that production over the last three seasons. Advertisement Tight ends need the ball to make an impact, and Pitts hasn't been featured as much since Matt Ryan was still in Atlanta. The fifth-year tight end failed to develop chemistry with former Falcons quarterbacks Desmond Ridder, Marcus Mariota and Taylor Heinicke. The 2024 season was supposed to be different for Pitts due to veteran Kirk Cousins taking over at quarterback, but Cousins' production was wildly inconsistent. 2025 might be Pitts' last shot to prove he can be a difference maker on offense. Falcons offensive coordinator Zac Robinson is still high on the young tight end and expects big things from him this season. "I'm expecting Kyle to take a big jump," said Robinson. "You know, Year 2 two of the system. Year 2 of understanding what we're trying to do offensively. All those things that come with it, so expecting a lot of good things from Kyle. He knows what he needs to work on with the details, some of the fundamentals and techniques." Advertisement Pitts has recorded 196 catches for 2,651 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns since entering the league in 2021. Last off-season, the Ravens announced they would wear their new Purple Rising helmets Thursday night, November 7, when they host the Cincinnati Bengals. Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reported that the NFL is updating its uniform policy to allow teams to wear throwback or alternate uniforms up to four times per season. The first-ever alternate helmet features a metallic purple rising painted shell with gold talon lines, a gold face mask, and the front-facing Ravens logo, best known for the red eyes that adorn the player entrance tunnel at M&T Bank Stadium. According to Jordan Schultz (FOX Sports), the week 17 contest will take place in Minneapolis and it will be broadcast exclusively by Netflix. Even better: Minnesota's Xmas Day road opponent… will be the NFC North rival Detroit Lions. The NFL can't be held down and this is another example of why. They tend to make smart decisions, like this one. Putting the Minnesota Vikings up against the Detroit Lions in the second to last week of the 2025 regular season should have all sorts of playoff implications tied to it. So far, there have been other schedule release leaks that are more rumor than report, at this point. When those become more official, we will have them for you here at Related Headlines
