US pop star Jordin Sparks begs Guy Sebastian to sing with her in Australia ahead of 2025 shows: 'I need you on stage!'

RnB star Jordin Sparks has begged Guy Sebastian to join her on stage when she comes to Australia later this year. The No Air hitmaker, 35, will be hitting our shores in October as part of a huge Fridayz Live lineup that includes Mariah Carey, Pitbull, Wiz Kalifa, Lil John, Eve and Tinie Tempah. Appearing on 2DayFm's Jimmy & Nath with Emma show on Friday, Jordin admitted that she would love Guy to reunite with her on stage for the Sydney leg of the run. Guy and Jordin partnered up back in 2009 for the track Art Of Love, which featured on Guy's fifth album Like It Like That. After being informed of Guy's recent horrific ordeal on the footy field that left him with a ruptured Achilles tendon, Jordin said that having the Australian Idol on stage was a must. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'When you come to Engie Stadium here in Sydney, is it okay if wee carry Guy up onto the stage when, hopefully he performs with you? co-host Jimmy Smith asked. Jordin replied, 'Please, any way you can get him up there.' 'I hope he's listening right now. I have a new phone so I don't have is current number, but any way we can get him up on the stage, I would love to sing with him.' The pop star then spoke directly to Guy over the airwaves - begging him to sing Art Of Love together in Sydney. 'Guy Sebastian, if you are listening to this, I will be there in October and I need you on stage with me so we can sing our song together,' she pleaded. The radio duo then got Guy on the line, and he didn't need much convincing to accept the offer. 'I love Jordin,' he said. 'The last time we sang it together was on her tour in the US. When was our last show? Probably San Diego or something - that was probably the last time I sang it with Jordin.' When the question was put to him again, Guy said: 'She's amazing - I'll definitely do that. I'll have to check if I'm in the country, but If I'm here I'm on.' Guy could potentially find himself rather busy when Fridayz live hits Sydney, with the Battle Scars hitmaker having collaborated with three artists on the bill. Back in 2010, Guy released the track Who's That Girl which featured American rapper Eve, while he also collaborated with Tinie Tempah on the UK hitmaker's 2017 track So Close. When it comes to headliner Mariah Carey however, Guy admitted that a collaboration with the pop diva was unlikely. 'Have you ever met her? Do you want to meet her?' Jimmy asked. 'I'll meet anyone, but I can't imagine she'd be sitting there wanting to meet me,' Guy replied. It comes after guy recently suffered a shocking injury that saw him rushed to hospital requiring surgery on a ruptured Achilles tendon. The incident occurred after Guy teamed up with AFL great and radio host Brendan Fevola to help struggling club Masala Dandenong break a long losing streak. However, Guy's afternoon was cut short by injury with the pop star seen limping from the park in the fourth quarter. Guy took to social media after the match, writing: 'Thought I'd strap on the boots after a LONG hiatus and performed for the locals.' 'Great day out for Masala Dandenong getting their first win with @brendanfevola25 kicking a bag!' he continued. 'Unfortunately I've done a proper number on myself. #realitycheck #sticktosinging #footyglorydaysareover.' Brendan revealed the extent of Guy's injuries the following day on Channel 7's Sunday Footy Feast. 'He's ruptured his Achilles. He's getting surgery on Monday and is in hospital. So he missed his mate's 40th but hey we got good headlines, which is great (laughs).' Jordin Sparks first hit the spotlight in 2007 after winning the sixth season of American idol, becoming the youngest winner in the series' history

Mariah Carey returning to Australia for the first time in over a decade to headline Fridayz Live

Mariah Carey is returning to Australia for the first time in over a decade to headline Fridayz Live. After not going ahead last year, the festival is making a big return with a massive Australian tour set to bring some iconic artists to Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. Fantasy singer Carey will be joined by the likes of US rapper Pitbull, Battlefield singer Jordin Sparks and Let Me Blow Your Mind rapper Eve. Five-time Grammy winner Carey will be bringing her trademark glamour alongside a stacked setlist that will include bangers like Fantasy, Always Be My Baby, We Belong Together and Obsessed. Carey's highly anticipated return to Australia comes after she was forced to cancel her 2019 visit and as she celebrates twenty years of her landmark album, The Emancipation of Mimi. The legendary diva will be joined by 2010s icon Pitbull, whose recently courted an entirely new generation of fans thanks to his TikTok antics. Backed by an array of club hits including Hotel Room Service, Feel This Moment, I Know You Want Me and so many more, Pitbull will bring his showstopping Party After Dark Tour to Fridayz Live. A handful of others stars will join Carey and Pitbull, including rapper Wiz Khalifa, Grammy winner Lil' Jon, late 90s rapper Eve, British rapper Tinie Tempah and American Idol winner Jordin Sparks. The 2025 edition of Fridayz Live will kick off in Brisbane on Friday, October 17th at the Brisbane Showgrounds, before heading to Sydney's EDGIE Stadium on Saturday, October 18th. The following weekend, the festival moves west to Perth's Langley Park on Friday, October 24th, wrapping up in Melbourne at Marvel Stadium on Safc96bb9a18961d86af716c0e10773778turday, October 25th. Last year's festival was cancelled after event organisers felt that they had been unable to secure a line-up that was strong enough for fans. 'Hey Fridayz Fam … it's gonna burn for us to say this – Fridayz Live won't be happening this year,' they wrote at the time in a statement on social media. 'We're hitting the pause button – for now.' Previous line-ups have featured Jason Derulo, Boyz II Men, and Kelly Rowland. Fridayz Live presale will begin on May 26th, followed by general sale on June 2nd.
