Game On, which is available now on Youtube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts, airs every Friday and this week Michael Gannon and Graeme Young debate passionately about the big talking points with Davide Ancelotti going Brazil rather than Ibrox, Celtic hunting for transfer quality, Jimmy Thelin feeling the heat in Aberdeen and the Rangers takeove r plans for Ibrox. Name a potential Celtic transfer that would make the champions better? Graeme Young:"Josh Brownhill, Burnley, a free agent and if Reo Hatate leaves, he is that third midfielder, par excellence, he really can cut it. This has been his best season in terms of goals, with 18 in the Championship. "That is the selling point of him as a free agent, it's working for Real Madrid every summer, picking off prized free agents, obviously paying them big wages. He is the type of player who would fit the way Rodgers plays. He has been linked with those lower half teams but I think Celtic are a selling point for guys who have spent their careers in England. "There is Champions League at Celtic, if they get through the playoff, and I think it is a huge carrot." Michael Gannon:"Some of the names from the January window are still bouncing around, there was talk about David Strelec. "That still won't go away, he is a big strong striker and is still scoring goals. He was banging them in during the first half of the season, I think he had his heart set on coming to Celtic in January, It didn't quite work out in terms of the cost. But he kept his head down and he is still banging in the goals. "I think that is an interesting one because they needed a striker." Is it time for Rangers to think about expanding Ibrox? Graeme:"The answer from Patrick Stewart was interesting. He had to be non-committal on an extension to Ibrox for the reason that the 49ers hadn't taken power yet. But as a perfect test case, Leeds United; 26,000 on their waiting list, the new stadium blueprint is out. "I think that's big for the 49ers in their sphere and the NFL. They built Santa Clara, 49ers' mega stadium, but they got absolutely panned for this because where they've moved it to is outside San Francisco. That's been the big criticism, they've probably been chastened by that. "Now they've got this template. Leeds are staying in situ, and the plans for that are very much about modernising it. That's the template for Ibrox." Michael:"People want 60,000. It's the same at Celtic, they've got 10,000 on the waiting list so they want it to 70 or 80,000. The problem with Celtic and Rangers is supply and demand. "These clubs are built on the money that comes in from season books. So if you make Celtic Park or Ibrox 80,000, you're not going to get that every week. The danger is you then create supply that outstrips demand, and fans then might think 'I'm not going to buy a season ticket, I'm just going to pick and choose my games.' "That's what they cannot afford to do. They need to have that demand, they need to fill it out before a ball is kicked. They need the season book money in June or July to fund the transfer market and wages for the rest of the season." Two Championship giants return to the Premier League after dominant seasons
Double Delight on Promotion Day Burnley and Leeds United have secured automatic promotion to the Premier League after a dramatic Saturday in the Championship. Burnley's 2-1 win over Sheffield United at Turf Moor not only sealed their own top-flight return but also confirmed Leeds' promotion after their earlier 6-0 demolition of Stoke City. Leeds now sit atop the table with 94 points, level with second-placed Burnley but ahead on goal difference, with two matches remaining. For Sheffield United, who are third on 86 points, the path now leads to the playoffs. Burnley's Defensive Steel and Unbeaten Run Burnley, managed by Scott Parker, extended their unbeaten league streak to 31 games. Midfielder Josh Brownhill was the hero, scoring twice to counter Tom Cannon's temporary equaliser. 'We've been written off so many times, people calling us boring, but we've bored our way to the Premier League again,' Brownhill said. The Clarets boast the league's best defence, conceding just 15 goals in 44 matches. 'This one feels more special,' said Parker, who previously guided Fulham and Bournemouth to promotion. 'I decided to take a year out and come in to this knowing there was a big challenge ahead. I'm relieved and happy.' Leeds Light Up Elland Road At a roaring Elland Road, Joel Piroe put on a clinic, scoring a hat-trick in the first 20 minutes and adding a fourth before halftime. Leeds led 5-0 at the break, cruising to a 6-0 win. It marks their return to the Premier League after relegation in 2023. 'Very proud,' said captain Ethan Ampadu. 'We've worked all year for this… We're going to enjoy tonight and then we're going to try and do the full thing.'

Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool land huge cash windfall thanks to Premier League rule
Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool will be handed a financial boost by the Premier League due to a rule concerning the use of parachute payments for relegated sides Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool are set to receive a financial windfall after Burnley and Leeds confirmed their promotion to the Premier League. The Clarets beat Sheffield United on Monday night to ensure the Blades cannot catch either of the top two. Two goals from Josh Brownhill secured victory at Turf Moor, moving them an insurmountable eight points clear of Chris Wilder's side. The Yorkshiremen will now finish third and will compete in this season's promotion play-offs. The win for Burnley also secured promotion for Leeds United, who smashed Stoke City earlier on Monday. The Whites currently sit top of the Championship ahead of Burnley on goal difference. They will play in the Premier League for the first time since being relegated in 2023, while Burnley have earned an immediate return to the top-flight after going down last year. Leeds' relegation came in a season in which they had three managers and lost 21 times. They faired better than Burnley did last year though, with the Clarets winning just five times before going down under Vincent Kompany. The Belgian left in the summer to take over Bayern Munich, with Scott Parker replacing him. Parker's success this season also serves as a boost to the 17 teams who will not be relegated from the Premier League this season. That is because those clubs will split the parachute payments Leeds and Burnley will now not receive. When Leicester and Southampton were relegated in 2023 and then promoted the following season, £102million in parachute payments were saved. Those savings were then split between Premier League clubs. Following Burnley and Leeds' promotions, a further £51m has been saved, which will also now be split between top-flight sides. The Clarets had been set to receive a parachute payment of £35m next season, while Leeds were scheduled to be handed £16m. But their promotions means they will instead now pick up more than £110m thanks to the television and prize money deals. As a result the £51m in unpaid parachute payments will be divided by the top-flight clubs. That means United, Liverpool and Arsenal can all expect to receive a sum from that split. Parker is keen for his side to put up a better challenge in the bid to beat the drop next year, but wants to allow them time to celebrate their promotion first. 'We knew the challenges, that this was a relentless league,' he said. 'It is very challenging, so I'm delighted for everyone at the football club at what we've achieved. There were some tough moments but they bring out the best in people and we reacted in the right way. "There were of course some hard times but it brought us all closer together and has got us to this point so immensely proud of everyone. It is emotional for me because of the pride I have in the group. "It feels very different to what I've done before, not just the group but the whole football club. There were bumps in the road but that brought us together even more and I'm absolutely buzzing.'
