Announced on Friday, Alabama Crimson Tide tight end Josh Cuevas has been named to the preseason watch list for the 2025 John Mackey Award. The Mackey Award, which will announce a list of semifinalists Oct. 30, is presented annually to the top tight end in college football. Entering year two in Tuscaloosa, Cuevas is the biggest name in a deep Alabama tight end room, and is expected to start for the Crimson Tide at the position this fall. Transferring to Alabama from Washington last offseason, Cuevas appeared in all 13 games for the Crimson Tide, and went on to have a career-year in which he hauled in a total of 16 receptions for 218 yards and a touchdown.
