Police investigate shots fired reports in Turners Falls

TURNERS FALLS, Mass. (WWLP) – The Montague Police Department is investigating multiple shots fired reports on Third Street early Monday morning. Two arrested in Holyoke traffic stop connected to shots fired incident Police stated in a press release that the department received reports of shots fired at approximately 2:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. on Monday. Both incidents were reported to occur int the area of Third Street. Investigation has determined that no one was hit or injured during these incidents. The shots fired reports are believed to be related, according to Montague Police. The department urges anyone with information related to these incidents to contact Detective Sergeant Joshua Hoffman at 413-863-8911. TURNERS FALLS — Montague Police are asking anyone with information about incidents involving the shooting of firearms on Third Street early in the morning on Monday, May 26, to reach out to them. Police are investigating reports of shots fired around 2 and 5:30 a.m. Monday. Nobody was hit or otherwise injured. The incidents are believed to have been related. No arrests have been made. Anyone with information relating to these incidents is asked to contact Montague Detective Sergeant Joshua Hoffman at 413-863-8911. Wreck claims one life, injures two in Young County

YOUNG COUNTY (KFDX/KJTL) — A two-vehicle wreck in Young County leaves one dead and two injured. Just before 1 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2025, authorities responded to a wreck on FM 209 about a mile and a half east of Murray between a motorcycle and a pickup. According to Texas DPS Sergeant Juan Gutierrez, the motorcyclist was northbound on FM 209 and the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado was southbound. Gutierrez reported the motorcyclist failed to follow the curve of the road causing the rider to strike the truck head-on. The motorcyclist was identified as 27-year-old Joshua Hoffman from Fort Worth and was pronounced dead at the scene. Hoffman was found not wearing a helmet, according to Gutierrez. The driver and passenger of the truck were both taken to Graham Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The crash currently remains under investigation.
