Netflix's When Life Gives You Tangerines emerged as the biggest winner of the night, securing the prestigious Grand Prize (Daesang).
The 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards 2025 dazzled South Korea's entertainment industry with a star-studded evening at the Paradise City Resort in Incheon. Hosted by Jun Hyun-Moo and Girls' Generation's YoonA, the event celebrated the best in South Korean OTT content, from dramas to variety shows.
Netflix's When Life Gives You Tangerines emerged as the biggest winner of the night, securing the prestigious Grand Prize (Daesang). The heartfelt drama not only captured the audience's hearts but also critical acclaim. IU, the show's leading lady, took home Best Actress, while Yum Hye-Ran won Best Supporting Actress for her moving performance in the same series.
Meanwhile, the Best Drama award went to The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, a gripping medical thriller that also saw its lead Ju Ji-Hoon win Best Actor. Choo Young-Woo, also from the series, was awarded Best New Actor, marking a promising start to his career.
Other acting wins included Lee Kwang-Soo for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Karma, and Kim Min-Ha was named Best New Actress for her performance in Way Back Love.
As expected, the Popularity Award – voted by fans – was shared among four heavyweights: Park Bo-Gum, IU, Hyeri, and Lee Jun-Hyuk. All four have had a phenomenal year in K-dramas and continue to be fan-favourites globally.
The competition this year was especially fierce, with names like Park Hae-Soo, Lee Byung-Hun, Park Eun-Bin, Seo Hyun-Jin, and Cha Joo-Young all nominated in major categories. Ultimately, it was IU and Ju Ji-Hoon who emerged victorious, adding another feather to their caps.
Adding to the celebratory spirit were special performances by rookie girl group KiiiKiii and the viral band JAESSBEE, who kept the energy high throughout the ceremony.
The Blue Dragon Series Awards, hosted annually by Sports Chosun, recognises excellence in the Korean OTT space, particularly on platforms like Netflix, TVING, and Wavve. With standout winners and spectacular performances, the 2025 edition proved to be one of the most memorable yet.
