Tributes paid to 77-year-old grandmother Judith Malloy who died in A75 crash

Tributes have been paid to a 77-year-old grandmother who died in a crash on the A75. Emergency services were called to the collision at Auchenlarie just before 11.30am on 28 May, 2025, which involved a red Suzuki Ignis and a white Peugeot van. Judith Malloy, who was a passenger in the Suzuki, was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where she died. In a statement, her family said: 'Judith was an adored wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and she leaves behind family and many friends whose lives will never be the same. "We will miss her every single day." The driver and passenger of the van were taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary and have since been discharged. The driver of the car was uninjured. Police Scotland Constable Luke Bell said: 'Our thoughts are with Mrs Malloy's family and friends at this difficult time. We'll continue to liaise with them throughout our investigation. 'I'd like to thank everyone who has come forward with information to assist our enquiries. 'We are still looking for witnesses to this collision. Judith Malloy, 77, died in hospital following the crash on Wednesday morning. An elderly woman who died in a horror van crash on the A75 has been named by police. Emergency services raced to the collision at Auchenlarie in Castle Douglas, Dumfries and Galloway, at 11.20am on Wednesday. ‌ The crash involved a red Suzuki Ignis and a white Peugeot van. ‌ Crews arrived at the scene and the passenger in the car, a 77-year-old woman, was found injured. She was raced to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where she sadly died. ‌ Police have named her as Judith Malloy. Her heartbroken family told how their lives will "never be the same" following her death. The statement, released via Police Scotland, reads: 'Judith was an adored wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and she leaves behind family and many friends whose lives will never be the same. ‌ "We will miss her every single day." The driver and passenger of the van were taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary and have since been discharged.
