Warmer temperatures and sunshine coming up this weekend
After weeks of rain and clouds, there's light at the end of the tunnel. Today brings lots of sunshine with a mix of sun and cloud in the afternoon. A cold front is expected tonight, but will clear shortly past midnight. Not only today, but the rest of the week is looking bright. 'We're back above normal with lots of sunshine in the forecast,' said CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison. Saturday will bring a mix of sun and cloud, with Sunday, Monday and Tuesday expected to be sunny. 'June arrives with some warmer conditions heading into next week, and the first couple weeks of June are looking good in terms of daytime highs,' said Atchison. Here's a look at the rest of the forecast Friday: Sunny in the morning and early in the afternoon then a mix of sun and cloud with 30 per cent chance of showers late in the afternoon. Fog patches dissipating in the morning. High 23. UV index 1 or low. Friday night: Mainly cloudy. 60 per cent chance of showers in the evening and after midnight with risk of a thunderstorm. Cloud cover to clear, sunshine fills weekend forecast

'Watch [for] a bit of fog through the overnight, temperatures dip down between 10 and 11 degrees across the area and the winds will be light and variable,' explained CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison. 'We have lots of sunshine in the forecast.' Friday, sunny skies and climbing temperatures are expected, but a cold front is on its way Friday night. 'That will bring the chance for some showers anytime after about 7 p.m. [Friday],' said Atchison. 'Possibility of a thunderstorm as well as we push past midnight.' That front will clear, making way for some summer-like weather starting next week. Showers, sunshine, and everything in between for the coming week
Conditions for the coming week are all over the map, CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison has all the details so you can stay dry. Unsettled conditions with a mix of sun and showers is projected for the rest of the week – a perfect way to close out May. 'A cloudy start to the day with a chance of showers moving in this afternoon,' predicted CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison. 'Periods of rain expected as we head into the latter half of the day.' Showers are expected to roll through the region on Wednesday night, with heavier rain expected in Grey and Bruce County, as well as the Bruce Peninsula. 'As we head towards Eastern Ontario, we will see some heavier rainfall on Wednesday night, early Thursday,' said Atchison. Cloudy conditions are expected to persist on Thursday, with a few scattered showers throughout the region. Sunnier conditions are expected heading into the weekend, with a warmup on the way to start June, 'setting up to finally have a nice stretch of sunshine again – 18 degrees Saturday into Sunday with a fair amount of sunshine,' said Atchison. Cloud cover, warm temperatures in London region
A cloudy day in the London region, but temperatures are holding from 19 C to 23 C, according to CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison. 'We are still under the influence of high pressure, but we're seeing this cloud cover stream in advance of our next low, that's making its way towards the Ohio valley,' said Atchison. 'So, high pressure moving out, and you can see this high cloud that's moved in, resulting in that filtered sunshine.' Atchison said as Wednesday rolls around, showers are expected. 'We will have this area of low pressure sliding by to the south, and then we have a closed low that will dive in from the upper plains,' she said. 'That combo will bring some showers heading throughout the day on Wednesday, likely not arriving until Wednesday afternoon.' Here's the rest of your forecast: Tuesday night: Partly cloudy.
