The Chicago White Sox (42-72) and Seattle Mariners (62-53) play the finale of their 3-game series Thursday. First pitch from T-Mobile Park in Seattle is set for 4:10 p.m ET (MLB Network). Let's analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's MLB odds around the White Sox vs. Mariners odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets. Season series: Mariners lead 4-1 After an 8-3 win Tuesday, the Mariners picked up their fifth win in 6 games with an 8-6 victory over the White Sox Wednesday night, cashing as heavy -257 home favorites as the Over (7.5) hit with ease. CF Julio Rodríguez launched his 21st homer of the season—a 3-run blast—while 1B Josh Naylor went 2-for-3 with a 2-run shot. The White Sox dropped their third straight game, falling behind early as SP Jonathan Cannon was hammered (1 2/3 IP, 4 H, 7 ER, 3 BB, 1 K, 2 HR). Chicago hit 3 home runs—courtesy of DH Mike Tauchman, 2B Lenyn Sosa, and RF Michael Taylor. The White Sox will look to avoid a sweep in Thursday's series finale. White Sox at Mariners projected starters RHP Shane Smith vs. RHP Logan Gilbert Smith (3-7, 4.25 ERA) is making his 20th start. He has a 1.31 WHIP, 4.1 BB/9 and 8.4 K/9 through 91 innings. White Sox at Mariners picks and predictions Mariners 7, White Sox 3 Moneyline PASS. Love the Mariners (-295) to complete the sweep on Thursday, but I'll take my wager to the run line with the better odds. Run line/Against the spread BET MARINERS -1.5 (-125). The Mariners enter Thursday's series finale as heavy favorites—and for good reason. They've dominated the season series against the White Sox, winning 4 of 5 matchups, including the first 2 games of this set by scoring 8 runs in each. Seattle is also 33-25 at home, backed by a strong 3.43 team ERA at T-Mobile Park, which ranks sixth in MLB. The Mariners have won 5 of their last 6 games and are gaining ground in the AL West as they chase down the Astros. Meanwhile, the White Sox are trending in the opposite direction, dropping 3 straight and continuing to struggle on the mound. Thursday's starter, Smith, hasn't picked up a win since June 10. With momentum, pitching, and home-field advantage on their side, Seattle is well-positioned to finish the sweep and keep pushing toward the top of the division. Over/Under OVER 7.5 (-105). The Over has hit in the last 3 meetings between the Mariners and White Sox, including both games in this series. It's also 6-2-2 in Chicago's last 10 games and has cashed in Seattle's last 4. With the Mariners rolling offensively, they may clear the 7.5 total on their own. The Over is the play. Play our free daily Pick'em Challenge and win! Play now! Rodriguez and Naylor go deep early, Mariners hold off White Sox 8-6
SEATTLE — Julio Rodríguez hit a three-run homer during a five-run second inning for the Seattle Mariners as they beat the Chicago White Sox 8-6 on Wednesday night. Rodríguez — who on Sunday became the first player in major league history with 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases in each of his first four seasons — went deep on a hanging sweeper from starter Jonathan Cannon (4-9). Cal Raleigh drove in two runs with a single immediately before Rodríguez's homer. Seattle led 7-1 after two innings, thanks in part to Josh Naylor's two-run homer in the first. George Kirby (7-5) was effective for six innings, yielding two runs and five hits while striking out nine. Chicago made it competitive in the seventh after Kirby exited, scoring three runs off reliever Eduard Bazardo on homers from Mike Tauchman and Lenyn Sosa. Rodríguez scored on Eugenio Suárez's sacrifice fly in the bottom half to make it 8-5. All-Star closer Andrés Muñoz gave up a solo shot to Michael A. Taylor in the ninth before walking back-to-back batters. Muñoz settled in from there to lock down his 26th save. The White Sox loaded the bases against Kirby with two outs in the third, but Curtis Mead flied out. Naylor is the first player with three homers and eight steals in his first 12 games with a franchise since Bobby Brown for San Diego in 1983. White Sox right-hander Shane Smith (3-7, 4.25 ERA) starts Thursday afternoon against right-hander Logan Gilbert (3-4, 3.45) in the series finale. ___ AP MLB:
