From baseball games at Regions Field to music and shows that keep the good vibes going, there's no shortage of ways to soak up the season. Through July 3, 2025: So So Spiffy Outdoor Shopping Event So So Spiffy is opening its showroom doors to the public for four days to host a rare, once-a-season shopping event. Known for their popular monthly events, this special edition invites shoppers to browse their exclusive outdoor line in person — no appointment required. Just in time for the 4th of July, this is the chance to upgrade your outdoor setup with pieces everyone will be talking about. Doors are open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Through July 6, 2025: World Police & Fire Games This Olympic-style competition brings thousands of first responders from around the globe to compete in everything from cycling and swimming to badminton and bowling. With events happening at venues across the city, like BJCC Legacy Arena, the Birmingham CrossPlex, and Rickwood Field, it's a unique chance to cheer on heroes while soaking up the energy of international competition. Head to Regions Field to soak up summertime fun, from post-game fireworks and themed nights to tasty ballpark bites and family-friendly festivities. Held at Oak Mountain State Park, the 8.2-mile race blends road and trail terrain, winding through some of the prettiest parts of the park. With just the right mix of challenge and charm, it's a Birmingham tradition that feels more like a celebration than a competition. Registration is $40 through July 2. July 4, 2025: Thunder on the Mountain Vulcan Park & Museum's Thunder on the Mountain is Alabama's biggest Independence Day fireworks spectacular. The annual event features more than 2,500 firework shells that burst to life in perfect sync with patriotic sounds. For the first time, VIPs can enjoy a ticketed viewing party atop Kiwanis Centennial Park, complete with a catered dinner, open bar, and reserved parking with shuttle service. July 4, 2025: Homewood's July 4 Festival Downtown Homewood transforms into a festive, family-friendly playground for its annual July 4 Festival. The event features rides, attractions, and a DJ. Plus, it's a prime location for viewing Thunder on the Mountain when it kicks off at 9 p.m. Admission is free, but to ride and play on the attractions, a $10 wristband must be purchased. The festival begins at 5 p.m. July 11 & 12, 2025: The Mercantile by Miller's Anniversary Celebration One of its biggest events of the year, The Mercantile by Miller hosts its annual two-day anniversary celebration this month. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., you can enjoy refreshments while you peruse the store's 40+ vendors. Plus, those who make a purchase are entered to win a $100 Mercantile by Miller gift card. July 15, 2025: Building A Bee Hotel This hands-on workshop is led by a volunteer expert who teaches you how to craft your own bee house. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just looking for a different kind of summertime activity, leave this two-hour class with a custom bee hotel, a deeper connection to local ecology, and a sense of pride in nurturing our pollinator population. July 17 – August 3, 2025: Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Mark Twain's timeless tale sails into the Virginia Samford Theatre this month with Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. The Tony Award-winning musical features a score by country legend Roger Miller and blends bluegrass flair with heartfelt storytelling to bring Huck and Jim's journey to life. July 19, 2025: The 8th Annual Firehouse Shoes and Brews Held at Avondale Brewing Company, this annual event supports Firehouse Ministries, an organization that serves chronically homeless men. The family-friendly gathering — sponsored by the Alabama Cornhole Association — is made for casual tossers and competitive teams alike, all for a great cause. The tournament starts at 2 p.m. July 26, 2025: paige Held at the picturesque John Piney's Barn, this chef-crafted, four-course dinner showcases the finest locally grown tomatoes in every dish — from appetizers to dessert. July 18 – August 10, 2025: Waitress Waitress follows Jenna, a small-town waitress and pie-making pro, as she whips up courage, hope, and a little romance to change her life. Shows take place at Red Mountain Theatre, and tickets start at $40. July 19, 2025: Mountain Brook Market Day 2025 Mark your calendars for July 19 and join the community for Mountain Brook Market Day. This all-day event, hosted by the Mountain Brook Chamber of Commerce, offers a delightful shopping experience with sales, unique finds, and the opportunity to support local businesses. July 27, 2026: 11th Annual Alabama Music Awards Celebrate Alabama's rich musical heritage at the Alabama Music Awards.
