Dubai Police launch ‘Be the Link' Forum to promote community safety

DUBAI (ALETIHAD)Under the slogan 'Be the Link,' Dubai Police, represented by the Crime Prevention Department of the General Department of Criminal Investigation and the Security Awareness Department of the General Department of Community Happiness, organised an awareness forum for real estate companies and managers of labour initiative aimed to promote awareness of Dubai Police services that enhance security and safety, contribute to community happiness, and raise awareness of cybercrimes, negative behaviours, and traffic Saeed Al Hajri, Acting Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation at Dubai Police, inaugurated the forum in the presence of Brigadier Juma bin Suwaidan, Acting Director of the General Department of Traffic; Colonel Aref Beshooh, Director of the Crime Prevention Department; Captain Abdullah Khalfan Al Mansoori, Head of the Security Awareness Section; as well as several officers, staff, and company his opening remarks, Brigadier Al Hajri welcomed the attendees and affirmed that the forum aligns with Dubai Police's ongoing commitment to strengthening communication with various segments of society. He highlighted the importance of raising awareness around policing, crime prevention, and traffic safety to boost public stressed the importance of collaborative roles with all partners, especially those in the real estate sector, to help convey awareness messages that enhance knowledge among employees and labourers. Emergency Communication Attendees received a detailed briefing on how to contact the Dubai Police. They were reminded to call 999 only in emergencies and 901 for non-emergency matters. The session also introduced the services provided by the Smart Police Station (SPS), which operates 24/7 with no human intervention, and the Dubai Police Smart App.
Police Eye Participants were introduced to the 'Police Eye' service, which allows community members to contribute to public safety by reporting misconduct or suspicious behaviour, including disputes, antisocial behaviour, or any actions that may lead to legal consequences.
Cybercrime Awareness
The forum included a segment on cybercrime, urging attendees not to click on unknown links or share banking or personal information with anyone claiming to represent government or financial institutions. The eCrime platform was introduced as an easy and accessible way to report cybercrimes via .
