Alexandra teen murder case postponed as probe continues
The legal proceedings involving Justice Maponyane, accused of shooting and killing 17-year-old Sthenjwa Ntombela in Alexandra, have been postponed.
According to Alex News, the case was scheduled to proceed this week but was delayed to allow for further investigations.
Maponyane, a community patroller and former convict, initially went into hiding following the incident. After weeks on the run, he surrendered to police and remains in custody. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting is ongoing, with authorities working to gather all necessary evidence.
The postponement ensures that both the prosecution and defence have adequate time to prepare. The community remains tense as the legal process unfolds, seeking justice for the young victim.
The case is set to continue on August 21.
