Indian Minister of Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Arrives in Bahrain

Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs of the Republic of India, arrived in the Kingdom of Bahrain today on an official visit aimed at strengthening the close ties between the two nations, particularly in the fields of judicial cooperation and arbitration. Upon his arrival, the Indian minister was warmly received by Professor Marika Paulson, Secretary-General of the International Dispute Resolution Council in Bahrain. The visit reflects the shared commitment of Bahrain and India to deepen bilateral collaboration in legal affairs and expand mutual cooperation in the areas of justice reform, alternative dispute resolution, and legislative dialogue.

BAGHDAD: HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, headed the Sultanate of Oman's delegation to the Fifth Arab Economic and Social Development Summit, which began on Saturday in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad with the participation of a number of heads of states and governments. The summit discussed the Arab food security file, developments in the Greater Arab Free Trade Area (GAFTA) and the completion of requirements for establishing the Arab Customs Union. The summit also discussed the executive plan for the Arab Water Security Strategy in the Arab region to address future challenges and requirements for sustainable development. The summit also reviewed the strategic framework and executive action plan for the Regional Programme for the Economic and Social Empowerment of Arab Women, among other issues. The Sultanate of Oman's delegation accompanying HH Sayyid Shihab comprises: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister; Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed al Saeedi, Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs; Dr Said bin Mohammed al Saqri, Minister of Economy; Abdullah bin Nassir al Rahbi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the Arab League and the Charge D'affaires of Oman's Embassy in Iraq. — ONA

Sayyid Shihab heads Oman's delegation at Arab Summit

BAGHDAD: On behalf of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs chaired the Sultanate of Oman's delegation at the 34th Arab Summit and the Fifth Arab Economic and Social Development Summit, held on Saturday in Bagdad, the Republic of Iraq. President Dr Abdul Latif Rashid of the Republic of Iraq, delivered a speech in which he warned that the specter of war threatens security and stability in the region. He noted that Baghdad Summit is being held amidst serious challenges endangering the region, the security of Arab nations and the fate of their peoples. He emphasised Iraq's rejection of the forced displacement of Gaza's population under any pretext and stressed the necessity of unified Arab action in the current phase. He called for serious and responsible Arab efforts to save Gaza, reactivate UNRWA's role and ensure the delivery of aid to the Strip. On his turn, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez stated that the death toll in Gaza is staggering and unacceptable, accusing Israel of violating international law. He stressed that what is happening in Gaza and the West Bank cannot be ignored. Meanwhile, UN Secretary-General António Guterres welcomed Oman's mediation in announcing a halt to attacks in the Red Sea, expressing hope for a political solution in Yemen. He also called for an end to the ongoing war in Gaza and rejected the forced displacement of its residents. During his speech, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas asserted that Israel's killings and forced displacement are part of a broader plan to sabotage the two-state solution. He urged the adoption of an Arab-led initiative to achieve peace. Sayyid Shihab to lead Oman's delegation to Arab summits in Baghdad

Muscat – H H Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, will lead the Sultanate of Oman's delegation to the 34th Arab Summit and the 5th Arab Economic and Social Development Summit in Baghdad on Saturday, on behalf of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. H H Sayyid Shihab will depart for Iraq tomorrow, accompanied by a senior official delegation comprising of Sayyid Badr al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, Dr Abdullah Mohammed al Sa'eedi, Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs, H E Dr Said bin Mohammed al Saqri, Minister of Economy, and H E Abdullah bin Nasser al Rahbi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Arab Republic of Egypt and permanent representative to the League of Arab States. who also serves as Chargé d'Affaires of the Omani Embassy in the Republic of Iraq. The two summits will bring together Arab leaders and representatives to discuss regional political developments, economic integration, and social advancement. Oman's participation reflects its steadfast commitment to dialogue, cooperation and joint action in addressing challenges and promoting stability across the Arab world.
