Boy, 13, tragically dies after being 'thrown into river over £40 debt'

Abdou Ngom, 13, from Verduno, in the north of Italy is claimed to have been thrown into the Tanaro River by another teenager over a debt despite not knowing how to swim A 13-year-old boy drowned after allegedly being thrown into a river by another teenager over a £40 debt. ‌ Abdou Ngom died in the Tanaro River in Verduno, in Italy's north-western Piedmont region and it was initially claimed that he disappeared while swimming without boys. But detectives now believe that another member of the group he was with, actually threw him in, despite Abdou shouting that he couldn't swim. The four boys had gone to the bank of the river from their homes in nearby Bra to hang out to enjoy the warm weather on April 21. ‌ But the river, the sixth longest in Italy, was dangerous as it was swollen and muddy from recent heavy rainfall. A rescue mission was launched to try and find the teenager but following no signs of him it was called off a week later. Meanwhile, a heatwave forecast reveals the exact date a 39C heat plume will scorch the UK. ‌ The Juvenile Prosecutor's Office in Turin has now charged one of the group, a 15-year-old boy with voluntary manslaughter with possible intent and he is currently under house arrest. During the investigation, detectives found that the three boys had been in contact to discuss how to behave if called in by police. Questioning also revealed that the prime suspect was eager to collect a £40 debt from Abdou. ‌ One of the other boys reportedly told officers: "Abdou said he couldn't swim, but the other guy grabbed him and threw him in the water." The suspect denies this account, as reported by NeedToKnow. Abdou was born in Bra but was of Senegalese descent. His parents as well as his three siblings have been left devastated by his death. His father, Khadim, told local media following his death: "I don't know what happened that day, how things went . I would like to know the truth and the reason, whatever it may be. If a boy says he can't swim, why is he pushed into the water?" ‌ He told how he had lived in Italy for 24 years and it was a small community where they are based which means that he knew of the other boys his son was playing with. "He dreamed of becoming a footballer and played for Bra first, then for the team in Roreto, Cherasco," he said. "But he couldn't swim. Unfortunately, I wasn't home that day, and he left without telling his mum where he was going. Otherwise, we would never have let him go to the river with those friends. "I hope this breakthrough in the investigation will at least lead to the search for my Abdou being restarted. I just want them to let us bury his body and have a grave where we can mourn him." Once found, Abdou's parents want to take his body to Senegal to be buried "where the rest of our family is".

Boy 'gang raped by classmates on Spain school trip' before being blackmailed

The sickening attack was said to be the culmination of severe bullying at school. A teenage boy was allegedly gang raped by five of his classmates during a school trip, leaving him in a catatonic state. The victim, now 16, was just 13 years old when the horror incident occurred during the sports trip to Malaga, Spain. He was forced to keep quiet about the abuse he suffered out of fear the group would target his younger brother. The bullying had started at his school in Valencia, with the youths, three of them under 14 at the time, mocking his acne and glasses and excluding him from social activities. Things spiralled into the alleged attack in March 2022. He is said to have been ambushed in a hotel corridor before being forced into a bathroom and locked in, while some members of the gang raped him while the others encouraged them, the Mirror reports. According to a reconstruction of the sickening turn of events, some of those involved had said: "let him suffer, let him suffer, I want to see him suffer." The teen was reportedly blackmailed into keeping quiet while suffering humiliation every day, and received 300 malicious phone calls from one of the perpetrators, with more threats sent via social media. He endured it for another two months before collapsing in his mother's arms and falling into a catatonic state. The trauma is said to have caused amnesia, which he has since sought help for from a psychologist. Spanish media reported that he also suffers from "chronic post-traumatic stress disorder with severe episodes of dissociative amnesia". Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! He was taken to hospital, and admitted a further three times over 35 days. The psychologist raised the alarm, reporting the alleged incident and abuse to the boy's school and the police. The teen was able to remember his alleged attackers' names in his first appointment with the psychologist, but could not recall all the details. Two years later, one person was charged in Valencia's Juvenile Prosecutor's Office, and could face 15 months locked up if found guilty. The others said to be involved were either too young to be charged with a criminal offence, or their involvement has not yet been proven. According to MailOnline, a teacher at the victim's school said: "Everyone at school knows a student was raped. The principal banned trips and overnight activities outside of Valencia after the complaint, ten children in the same grade left the school, and the members of the parent-teacher association resigned."

A 13-year-old schoolboy was allegedly gang raped by a gang of classmates during a sports school trip - the victim has reportedly already endured months of bullying and was blackmailed A schoolboy was allegedly gang raped by five of his classmates, when he was just 13 years old, during a school sports trip to Malaga, before he was left in a catatonic state. The young victim, now 16, was then blackmailed and forced to keep the horrific abuse a secret as he was terrified the shameless bullies would go after his younger sibling. The victim had already been bullied at school by a cruel gang, three of them had been under 14, mocked about his acne and glasses and excluded from events. This cruelty spiralled into an alleged disgusting act while on a school sports trip to Malaga, Spain. ‌ ‌ The barbarous gang allegedly ambushed the then 13-year-old, during their trip in March 2022, in the hallway of a hotel before they forced him into a bathroom. They supposedly locked the victim in the bathroom while some members of the horror group allegedly raped him while others cheered the disgusting act on. Some of the classmates, from the school in Valencia, Spain, said "let him suffer, let him suffer, I want to see him suffer", according to a reconstruction of the events. The then 13-year-old was reportedly blackmailed into staying silent about the traumatic event, as the victim believed they would target his younger brother. He even reportedly endured 300 phone calls from one of the gang members after the supposed attack and more threats sent through social media. This victim endured two more months of daily humiliation before he collapsed in his mother's arms and fell into a catatonic state. The horror attack and trauma he endured allegedly led to the boy experiencing amnesia, which he has used a psychologist to help work through this with. The boy was taken to hospital and later admitted three more times over 35 days. The alarm was raised by the psychologist who reported the alleged attack and abuse to the school and the police. The victim recalled the names of the alleged attackers during his first appointment with the psychologist but he was not able to remember all of the details. One person has been charged in Valencia's Juvenile Prosecutor's Office, two years after the alleged gang rape attack, and they could face 15 months behind bars if found guilty. Other alleged members of this group were either too young to be criminally charged or they have not proven to be involved yet. A teacher at the school, according to the MailOnline, said: "Everyone at school knows a student was raped. The principal banned trips and overnight activities outside of Valencia after the complaint, ten children in the same grade left the school, and the members of the parent-teacher association resigned." The victim, now 16, was left with "chronic post-traumatic stress disorder with severe episodes of dissociative amnesia", according to local Spanish newspapers.
