With its pulse-pounding soundtrack, stylized fight scenes, and emotionally complex characters, this Korean fantasy-action saga has exploded into the mainstream, and it shows no signs of slowing down.\ At the heart of K-pop Demon Hunters is HUNTR/X, a covert, demon-slaying unit made up of elite performers trained in both stagecraft and combat. 'No Live Action!': Fans Opposed To Possible Future 'K-pop Demon Hunters' Project
When a film receives overwhelmingly positive reviews and achieves global success, it's not uncommon for studios to propose a sequel. 'K-pop Demon Hunters' is one such film, with fans calling for a second instalment or even a series to continue the story from where it left off. Due to the overwhelming response, reports now suggest that Netflix may be pushing for both a sequel and a live-action adaptation. While fans have expressed excitement about a potential follow-up, they appear less enthusiastic about the prospect of a live-action version. Here's what they had to say: According to a report by TheWrap, Netflix is seriously considering two sequels to 'K-pop Demon Hunter', along with a live-action adaptation. The report suggests that the streaming platform may be planning to expand the original animated film into a full trilogy. While fans were initially excited about the possibility of sequels, many have voiced opposition to the live-action adaptation. A common sentiment is that animated works do not require live-action remakes, as much of their charm and expressiveness cannot be replicated by real-life actors. Others suggested that a live-action remake could potentially do more harm than good, citing the mixed reception of some of Disney's recent projects. Some also pointed out that the film is only a few months old, making a live-action retelling feel entirely unnecessary. Fans have even speculated that Hollywood is so resistant to the success of animation that it feels compelled to replace it with live-action adaptations. Personally, we'd love to see the sequels come to life, but we believe animated works should be allowed to remain as they are, without the need for live-action reinterpretations. Meet the voice actors of Saja Boys from 'K-pop Demon Hunters'
Photo Inside Page Whether you're a K-pop fan or just love animated action-comedies, Netflix's 'K-pop Demon Hunters' is hard to miss. The film was released back in June 20 and has been making waves online. The 2025 animated film centers on Huntr/x--a K-pop girl group made up of Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, who secretly moonlight as demon hunters. Their main adversaries? The Saja Boys: Jinu, Abby, Romance, Baby, and Mystery. Though they appear to be fellow idols, they're actually demons sent by the dark lord Gwi-ma to steal the souls of Huntr/x's devoted fans. Onstage, the Saja Boys are every bit the perfect K-pop idols: charming, mysterious, and massively popular. But behind the flawless visuals and catchy hits lies something more sinister--they're actually demons in disguise. As the film's main antagonists, they serve up more than just synchronized dance moves, becoming the ultimate threat to our demon-slaying heroines. The voices of The Saja Boys are brought to life by a mix of actors and singers who have also made a name for themselves in the music and acting industry. Ahn Hyo-seop voices Jinu, with Andrew Choi as his singing voice. Abby Saja is voiced by Sungwon Cho (ProZD), with Neckwav on vocals. Alan Lee and Kevin Woo voice and sing for Mystery Saja, while Joel Kim Booster and samUIL Lee do the same for Romance Saja. Danny Chung is behind the voices and sings for Baby Saja. Each Saja Boy has a unique persona, complete with a distinct voice and singing style brought to life by a talented lineup of actors and musicians. (Video) The Reason Why 'K-pop Demon Hunters' Star Arden Cho Was In Malaysia Recently
Even a month after its release, 'K-pop Demon Hunters' remains Netflix's most-streamed animated film on the platform. On top of that, the soundtrack made history by outperforming actual K-pop idols, including BTS and BLACKPINK, on several US music charts. The voice cast and singing voices behind the characters have also been actively promoting the film, making special appearances, giving interviews, sharing behind-the-scenes insights, and even collaborating with fellow idols and content creators. However, no one quite expected Arden Cho (아덴 조), the film's lead star, to be in Malaysia recently, and it turns out her visit wasn't necessarily to promote 'K-pop Demon Hunters'. Here's why she was here: Over the weekend, Korean-American actress Arden Cho revealed on Instagram that she had recently attended an event in Kuala Lumpur. The voice of Rumi, the main character in 'K-pop Demon Hunters', was apparently invited as a special guest to the inaugural Malaysia Bridal Fashion Week. As seen in the photos she shared, the actress wore a stunning, sparkly, feathered white gown by luxury brand The Gown Atelier, completed with jewellery from Tiffany & Co. According to Malay Mail, she recently got engaged to her unnamed fiancé, so the timing of her appearance at the fashion event seemed perfect, offering her a preview of some exquisitely crafted wedding dresses to consider for her big day. The 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' live-action star also posted a video showcasing a sneak peek of what went down on the day she attended the show. Shortly after posting on social media, Malaysian fans were both thrilled and surprised by Arden Cho's unannounced visit to Kuala Lumpur. Many praised how stunning she looked at the event, while others expressed their hope that she enjoyed her stay in the country. In other news, Arden Cho also teamed up with singer-actor Cha Eun-woo (차은우) for a special cover of 'Free', a duet between Rumi and Jinu from 'K-pop Demon Hunters'. The collab instantly went viral, especially since the ASTRO member was one of the character design inspirations for Jinu.
