The stakes were high and big hearts came together on Friday night at the luxurious Daytona Motors in Melrose, Johannesburg, as World Sports Betting hosted its first Charity Poker Evening, an event that combined celebrity power with purpose. The exclusive, by-invitation-only affair brought together some of South Africa's biggest celebrities including hip hop stars Cassper Nyovest and K.O, former soccer players Morgan Gould and Junior Khanye, musical artists DJ Warras and Ghost Hlubi, and model and influencer Faith Nketsi, in a spirited night of poker for a good cause. Speaking to TshisaLIVE, hit maker Cassper described playing poker as fun and exciting. 'I'm gambling here for a good cause to make a difference in somebody's life. But I'm preaching for responsible gambling. I'm happy to be here with great people,' he said. After an evening filled with excitement, strategy and celebration, Faith's team was victorious, securing R100,000 for her chosen charity, CHOC (Childhood Cancer Foundation SA).

Netflix's newest action thriller movie just got its first trailer — and it looks like a high-octane watch

Another adrenaline-pumping movie is making its way to Netflix soon, and the streaming service has just given us a taste of the action. If 'Havoc', the streamer's recent Tom Hardy-led action thriller, is up there as one of your favorite recent Netflix arrivals, then you might want to add the upcoming French thriller 'K.O." to your watchlist. That opinion's based on the 'K.O.' trailer that Netflix dropped yesterday (May 13), which gives us an idea of what to expect from Antoine Blossier's upcoming action flick, which you can find below. The trailer begins by setting the stakes: our main man, ex-MMA fighter Bastien (Ciryl Gane), retired from the game three years ago, after he accidentally killed his opponent Enzo in the ring. Now, he's got to come out of retirement for an entirely new mission: Enzo's widow has tracked Bastien down to help find her missing son. To do so, it looks like Bastien's about to need to be in way over his head, even with the aid of his newfound ally, Kenza (Alice Belaïdi), a committed cop also out to find the missing boy. Cue the action, as the trailer descends into snapshots of clashes in nightclubs, abandoned buildings, and out on the streets of France, a shot of a menacing, machete-wielding thug, and much more. 'K.O.' might not necessarily look like it's breaking new ground for the genre, but it looks like it'll satisfy anyone looking for a new high-octane watch. And if 'K.O.' looks like your kind of movie, you'll be pleased to know that it's coming to Netflix soon. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. The 'K.O.' trailer ends with confirmation that the new movie will be streaming on Netflix from Friday, June 6. Netflix has already released a full synopsis for 'K.O.' that gives us even more details about the streamer's upcoming action flick. It reads: 'Bastien (Ciryl Gane) has lived as a recluse ever since he accidentally killed his opponent Enzo in an MMA fight three years ago. Enzo's widow tracks him down and asks for his help: Bastien is her only hope of rescuing Léo (Maleaume Paquin), her teenage son who has gone missing in the northern districts of Marseille. Bastien sets off looking for him. Along the way, he meets Kenza (Alice Belaïdi), a young cop who is prepared to do anything to bring down the new crime lords of Marseille. Léo is in grave danger and time is of the essence.' In addition to Gane, Belaïdi and Paquin, 'K.O.' also stars Faued Nabba, Anne Azoulay, Ibrahima Keita, Samuel Jouy, and Virgile Bramly, among others. WATCH: Driving to Metro FM awards in Mbombela in the elegant Mercedes-Benz V300D

There's no better way of keeping to the 'Crowning Greatness' theme of this year's Metros than driving in the classy Mercedes-Benz V300D. There was no better way of keeping to the theme of this year's Metro FM awards, Crowning Greatness, than driving in the classy Mercedes-Benz V300D. The Metro FM awards were held at Mpumalanga's Mbombela stadium for the final year after being hosted in the province for three years. ALSO READ: Glamorous arrival: Cruise to MMA24 in Mercedes Benz V-Class luxury The elegant spaceship For a person who drives a hatchback, manual car every day, being behind the wheel of this gentle beast, the V300D, felt like driving an elegant spaceship. The Mercedes-Benz V300d has advanced tech features, including a suite of driver-assistance systems, premium audio, and comfort features. The V300D's size and elegance can be deceptive; it's a powerful car. You can go from zero to 100 in just under eight seconds. ALSO READ: K.O finally gets his Metro FM award in his home province Features One of my favourite things was using the 'Hey Mercedes' command, like having my own Siri in the car. The feature activates the Mercedes-Benz MBUX voice control system, which allows for a wide range of commands related to vehicle functions such as adjusting the temperature, navigation, entertainment, and more. The feature is equally fun as it is convenient. At first glance, some of the features might be intimidatingly overwhelming, but once you understand which button does what, you're in paradise. Something as small as adjusting your seat to your desire, which in my car is found just below my driver's seat, where I have to labour in changing it, the Mercedes V300D has buttons on both sides of the front doors that help with seat adjustment. That gorgeous spaceship feeling was livened up as we drove past Waterval Boven in the evening, when the blue lights came on inside the car. The blue (there are other colour choices) lights are not too much. They automatically switch on when it gets dark outside. There is just a strip on the dashboard of the car to give a sense of warmth. It can be used as a family car or, as many people we spotted it at garages assumed, a high-end party bus. Regardless of how you use this car, you are guaranteed comfort, power, and elegance in the Mercedes-Benz V300D. NOW READ: Metro FM Awards: Fashion meets music
