I tested three bonding treatments at all price points – one will leave your hair feeling better than ever

Scroll down to find out how you can get the perfect pout for less HAIR THIS OUT I tested three bonding treatments at all price points – one will leave your hair feeling better than ever Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) MY hairdresser Paula has changed my mind about a product I've avoided for years – hair bonding treatments. They are now firmly back on my radar. This week, I've put three to the test. The liquid is much thinner than I expected and, although the spray makes it slightly easier to apply, the bottle needs to be upright to dispense which is a pain, especially when you have long hair. It would be worth buying a cheap continuous mister and decanting it. With four different types of oil – coconut, avocado, sunflower and jojoba, I found it made my hair greasy quicker than normal but I can't deny it added shine and made it easier to brush when wet. MID-RANGE Epres bond repair treatment, £46 for 30ml, 4 The Epres bond repair treatment is super-lightweight and will leave your hair feeling better than ever Credit: Supplied I have to be honest, this is the product that changed my mind. Paula applied it to my hair before rinsing it when she took out some of my foils before the rest, and the brush was going through my wet hair like butter (if you've got fine hair, you'll know how knotty it usually gets when it's wet and freshly bleached) so I wanted to know what shampoo and conditioner she'd use. Turns out, she hadn't used any, only this clever spray. It immediately conditions hair but is super-lightweight so doesn't leave any residue behind and the continuous mister makes it mess-free to apply.I've been using it weekly since and my hair feels better than ever. I work at Superdrug and there's the viral hair products that are actually worth your money - including the £3 bargain buy that encourages hair growth LUXURY K18 Biomimetic Hairscience leave-in molecular repair hair mask, £70 for 50ml, 4 The K18 Biomimetic Hairscience leave-in molecular repair hair mask leaves hair instantly softer Credit: Supplied The application is slightly more long-winded than the Epres but I like that you apply it on towel-dried hair and can skip conditioner so it doesn't make my routine any longer. It took a while to work out how much product to apply – 1.5 pumps is the sweet spot for me – which meant I had a few bad hair days where I had to wash sooner than usual to get rid of the texture. It leaves hair instantly softer and mine feels stronger after a few weeks of use too.

It's said to repair damaged hair on a molecular level and transform the hair from brittle, broken and dry to healthy and shiny. The brand's K18 Pepdite technology is in all of the products that help reverse damage on a molecular level, build the hair bond chains and strengthen the hair's elasticity. It can be used on all hair types, textures and colours, and provides long-lasting repair. We put this system to the test to see if the hype was real — and the results have been amazing. Here's a quick how-to guide on how we use this product in-salon: Step 1: Before a colour service, our in-salon process would be to mist the hair with K18 Peptide Prep to help reduce mineral buildup, reset the hair's pH and restore the hair. This gets combed through and sits for four minutes before a colour application. This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below. Step 2: Next, we mist the hair with K18 Professional Molecular Repair Mist. This pre-service step helps to support the foundation and strength of the hair and helps prevent any new damage from occurring, and also sits in the hair for another four minutes. Step 3: After the colour process is complete, we gently cleanse the hair with K18 Damage Shield pH Protective Shampoo. We don't use conditioner and simply towel dry the hair and gently separate hair with our hands/fingers. Step 4: Instead of using conditioner, it's important to apply the K18 Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask through the hair. Based on the density and length of the hair, it's recommended to apply one to three pumps onto your hands, warm up the product and work through the hair starting at the ends and working up toward the roots. This is where you'll want to brush and detangle the hair and let it sit for four minutes. Note: This mask is clinically proven to repair damage from bleach and colour, chemical services and heat for immediate, plus, lasting results. The cream-based format helps soften, smooth and condition hair. Before styling, apply your regular styling products into the hair, blow dry and style as desired. The results are smooth, shiny and healthy-looking hair. Read More Vancouver Whitecaps Vancouver Whitecaps News Vancouver Canucks Crime
