NCERT Signs MoU with UEducate to transform national curriculum into into digital books
In a major stride towards advancing India's digital education ecosystem, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has entered into an MoU with UEducate Global Private Limited to convert its textbooks into interactive digital formats. The collaboration, formalized at NCERT headquarters in New Delhi, aims to make learning more engaging, inclusive, and technology-enabled in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the Digital India the significance of the initiative, Sarath Kakumanu, Founder and Managing Director of UEducate Global, said, 'This partnership represents a milestone in reimagining how India learns. With KATBOOK, we seek to empower teachers, inspire students, and create classrooms that are more interactive, inclusive, and multilingual. Our goal is to ensure every learner, regardless of location, has access to quality education.'The MoU was signed by NCERT Secretary Aman Sharma, alongside senior council officials and Manpreet Chadha, Director of Global Strategic Partnerships at UEducate.
Under this partnership, NCERT's trusted textbooks will be transformed into KATBOOKs--immersive, multimedia-rich digital textbooks. These enhanced resources will feature videos, animations, simulations, and AI-powered classroom tools designed to simplify teaching and enrich student learning. Additional features include built-in translators, dictionaries, and audiobooks, with offline availability to bridge the digital divide for students in remote large-scale rollout is expected to reach over 250 million students across India, positioning it as one of the world's largest EdTech initiatives. Pilot projects are scheduled in select states before nationwide implementation within the next 18 months.- Ends
