Billy Jack Haynes Found Unfit To Stand Trial
Former WWE star Billy Jack Haynes was deemed unfit to stand trial after murder charges. In February 2024, Haynes (William Albert Haynes) was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon after his 85-year-old wife, Janette Becraft, was killed in a shooting. The latest reports from ABC's KATU 2, revealed that Haynes appeared in court for a status check before Judge Angela Lucero. Advertisement The judge ruled that Billy Jack Haynes is currently not mentally fit to help with his own defense. He will now need to go through further evaluation and treatment at the Oregon State Hospital. It was also mentioned that a certified evaluator reviewed Haynes' behavior in court, along with comments from both his lawyers and the prosecutors. Both sides agreed that Billy Haynes is not fit to proceed at this time. A new hearing to check if Haynes is ready for trial is scheduled for May 20. If he is cleared by then, the trial is set to begin on December, 2025. However, court documents suggest Haynes may not be ready anytime soon. He could stay at the state Oregon State hospital for one to three years. Billy Jack Haynes, now 71, is a former NWA Florida Heavyweight Champion and NWA United States Tag Team Champion. He last competed in the wrestling world decades ago but made headlines in 2024 for this deeply troubling case. The post Billy Jack Haynes Found Unfit To Stand Trial appeared first on Wrestlezone.
