Abang Johari continues UK visit in London after Edge AI device launch

KUCHING (April 30): Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is currently in London, United Kingdom, along with a Sarawak government delegation for a four-day official working visit.
They were previously in Cardiff, where the Edge AI power converter device developed in Sarawak, named 'KETEK AI' was unveiled.
His arrival in London at 5.30pm yesterday (local time) was welcomed by the Malaysian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, Datuk Zakri Jaafar.
Accompanying the Sarawak Premier's delegation were State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, Sarawak Attorney General Dato Sri Saferi Ali, Sarawak Financial Secretary Dato Sri Dr Wan Lizozman Wan Omar and Deputy State Secretary (Economic Planning & Development) Dato Sri Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel.
According to Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Abang Johari will visit Cambridge University Press and Assessment today.
The assessment services provided include the administration of various types of tests, particularly qualifications for school and higher education levels, as well as standardisation tests related to the implementation of assessments in Sarawak schools.
On May 1, the Premier will lead the delegation to the London School of Economics and Political Science, where a roundtable discussion on sustainability and memorandum of understanding (MoU) exchange between the university and Sarawak government will take place.
That afternoon, he is scheduled to hold a meeting with officials from the International Hydropower Association and Global Renewable Alliances to strengthen cooperation in the field of hydropower, in line with Sarawak's role as a major hydropower provider in the Asean region.
On May 2, Abang Johari will deliver the keynote address at Sarawak Connects In London: Sarawak's Pathway To Sustainable Growth & Global Market Expansion.
This initiative serves as a direct engagement with targeted investors while providing the latest information on investment opportunities and the environment in Sarawak to investors in the United Kingdom and internationally.
On the night of May 3, he will meet Sarawakian students in the UK at a 'Lan Berambeh' gathering.
The objective of this programme is to provide Sarawakians in the United Kingdom with insights into government policies and approaches aimed at developing a competitive Sarawak, in line with the Sarawak Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
