Kerala Innovation Festival: AI Filmmaking Workshop for Students
Kochi, July 21 (UNI) Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) is organising a free workshop on 'Introduction to AI Filmmaking' this Friday, when the nodal agency's Kerala Innovation Festival will begin in the city. The workshop, which is open to students up to the Plus-2 level, will be held at the Digital Hub under the KSUM in suburban Kalamassery. Varun Ramesh, a prominent AI storyteller and trainer, will lead the workshop. The first 35 students who register will be able to participate, organizers said. MATRADE Secures Over RM120 Mln Trade Prospects At Korea Import Fair 2025
BUSINESS KUALA LUMPUR, July 15 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) has total trade prospects exceeding RM120 million in Malaysia's inaugural participation at the July 7-9 Korea Import Fair (KIF) 2025. In a statement today, MATRADE said this is more than double its initial target of RM60 million. Malaysia Pavilion showcased 12 companies and one government agency and was the largest national pavilion at the fair. It also implemented a range of targeted promotional initiatives to amplify Malaysia's presence to include business matching sessions with South Korean importers, digital marketing and social media campaigns, live streaming sessions and strategic media engagements. 'The impact of these initiatives was reflected in the strong results recorded. Malaysian products that garnered strong interest from South Korean buyers were jewellery such as necklaces and bracelets, footwear, ICT services, apparel, tropical fruits, and food and beverages,' it said. MATRADE chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz said its participation is part of its broader strategy to unlock export opportunities and outcomes, reaffirming the importance of strategic partnerships, focused promotional efforts and tailored business matching to create new avenues for Malaysian exporters. 'MATRADE's participation in KIF 2025 aligns with Malaysia's long-term vision of strengthening regional connectivity and expanding market access in Northeast Asia,' he added. -- BERNAMA

Sohail enters the tournament as the 12th seed in the M-250 category, according to the official world rankings released by the Kudo International Federation (KIF). His consistent performances at national and international levels have secured him this position. He recently won a bronze medal at the Kudo Eurasian Cup 2024, earning valuable ranking points. Who Is Sohail Khan? A well-recognised name in the Indian Kudo circuit, Sohail has had an impressive journey. He was the gold medallist at the Junior Kudo World Cup 2017 and has won four gold medals at the Akshay Kumar International Kudo Tournament. In 2023, he reached the quarter-finals of the Senior Kudo World Championship. Recently, Sohail clinched his 22nd consecutive national-level gold medal at the 3rd Kudo National Championship 2025-26, held in Pune from May 16 to 22. Representing Madhya Pradesh, Sohail remained unbeaten throughout the tournament and defeated Vabhan Chaturvedi of Rajasthan 6-0 in the final. Leading his preparation is an elite support team including Dr Mohammad Aijaz Khan (head coach), Harikant Tiwari (conditioning coach), and Deepak Tiwari (strengthening coach). KSUM announces two women-specific programmes
The Kerala Startup Mission has announced two special programmes for women start-up entrepreneurs in the run-up to the Kerala Innovation Festival (KIF) to be held at Kalamassery on July 25 and 26. KIF is a flagship platform that brings together innovators, investors, and ecosystem enablers to celebrate and foster innovation-driven entrepreneurship in Kerala. Applications have been invited for 'MVP Studio' and 'WE Pitch to WE Start' platforms that seek to transform the best ideas into operational models with the help of expert advice. MVP Studio targets startups in areas such as femtech, social impact, health and wellness, sustainable lifestyles, fashion tech and edtech. MVPs, or minimum viable products, will be showcased in the special pavilion at KIF, giving the participants an opportunity to re-invent the product by obtaining feedback from potential customers.
