Ami Maeshima releases first anime opening song for Private Tutor to the Duke's Daughter
Voice actor and singer Ami Maeshima has officially released the music video for her debut anime opening song, 'Wish for you.' The vibrant pop track serves as the opening theme for the Summer 2025 fantasy anime Private Tutor to the Duke's Daughter, where Maeshima also voices the main character, Caren.
The music video is now streaming on her official YouTube channel, and the song is available on digital platforms ahead of its physical CD release on July 23, 2025. According to the official announcement via Crunchyroll, the anime is currently streaming worldwide on their platform.
A new musical chapter: Maeshima's solo career and anime theme debut
Ami Maeshima, best known for her role as Aya Maruyama in the BanG Dream! series, began her solo music career in November 2024 with the album Determination, released under KING AMUSEMENT CREATIVE.
'Wish for you' marks her first anime opening theme and will be available as a CD single in both a regular and a first press limited edition. According to the official announcement via Crunchyroll, visuals for both CD jackets and a new artist photo have been revealed alongside the music video.
As her first anime tie-in song, this release represents a major step in her growing career as a singer and performer.

Adapted from the light novel series by Riku Nakano (story) and Cura (illustrations), the anime Private Tutor to the Duke's Daughter premiered on July 5, 2025. The plot follows Allen, a failed court sorcerer who becomes a private tutor for a duke's daughter struggling to use magic. Through his unconventional lessons, he begins to uncover the true reason behind her magical block. Ami Maeshima plays Caren, one of the main characters, while Miho Okasaki performs the anime's ending theme.
