Child critically injured after stabbing in St. Landry Parish
ST. LANDRY PARISH, La. (KLFY) – St. Landry Parish authorities are investigating an attack on a 6 year old child. Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz told KLFY News, 'On June 1, 2025, deputies received a call of a domestic disturbance at a residence on Hwy 31 in the Leonville area. Upon arrival, a 6-year-old child was found to have multiple lacerations and stab wounds to the face, neck and chest area.' The child was transported to a local hospital before being transferred to a Baton Rouge Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Authorities arrested Patrick Seth Greene, 37, of Opelousas. He is charged with Domestic Abuse Battery with Child Endangerment, 2 counts of Aggravated Assault and Resisting an Officer. He's being held in the St. Landry Parish Jail. Update on Fatal shooting in Mamou: Multiple victims injured; suspects questioned
UPDATE 3/04/25 6:30 p.m.: According to a video shared on Facebook, during a live performance from Chris Ardion, at least 10 gunshots rang out into the crowd causing everyone in the crowd to run. Another video showed officers forcing three men to the ground with at least one of them being put into handcuffs. It is not yet known if today's shooting is connected to the shooting that occurred in Mamou Monday during a live performance. ORIGINAL STORY: MAMOU, La. Two injured in shooting at Mamou Mardi Gras celebration Monday night
MAMOU, La. () – 2 people were injured Monday night at a Mamou Mardi Gras celebration concert. The shooting happened just after 10pm during the concert. Organizers of the event told KLFY News that 2 people were shot at during a fight. Both were taken to a local hospital with minor injuiries. Organizers say the shut down the concert and party immediately following the shooting. We've reached out to Mamou Police for more information into the investigation. Search for missing person in Eunice Lake
EUNICE, La. (KLFY) – Authorities are on the scene where a missing person was last seen. St. Landry Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz tells KLFY News that his office is investigating a missing person report. Deputies, as well as Search and Rescue staff from the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office, are in the area of Eunice City Lake at this time. An undocumented Hispanic male has been taken into custody relative to this incident, and is being detained pending notification to Homeland Security and ICE.
