THE Indian community in Perak is seeking clarity on the future of SJK(T) Ladang Katoyang in Tanjong Malim, which currently has around 30 pupils, Malaysia Nanban reported.
The school sits on the Ladang Katoyang estate, part of which was sold by landowner KLK Bhd to a private buyer.
The land is reportedly being cleared for development, raising fears that the school and the nearby Sri Dewi Karumariamman Temple may be at risk.
Tanjong Malim MIC chairman Datuk PS Naidu has submitted a memorandum to District Council chairman Dr Shazree Idzham, who said he would bring the matter to the attention of authorities.
> Public outrage erupted after videos surfaced showing new mothers and their newborns resting on the floor at Kallakurichi Government Maternity Hospital in Tamil Nadu, Makkal Osai reported.
It was claimed that beds were equipped with unusable mattresses. In response, the hospital chief said the worn-out mattresses have since been replaced.
