Russia attacks Ukraine with drones and Iskander missiles overnight: air defence downs 52 UAVs
The Russians attacked Ukraine with 80 drones, three Iskander-M/KN ballistic missiles and one Iskander-K cruise missile on the night of 1-2 June. Source: Ukraine's Air Force Details: Russia attacked with 80 Shahed UAVs and decoy drones of various types, three Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles and one Iskander-K cruise missile. They targeted mainly Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Donetsk and Kherson oblasts. Early reports indicate that as of 08:30, Ukrainian air defence systems had downed 52 aerial targets in the country's east, south and north: 15 Russian Shahed attack UAVs and other types of drones were destroyed with direct fire and 37 disappeared from radar or were suppressed by electronic warfare. Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces were involved in repelling the attack. Hits were recorded at 12 locations. Total of 52 aerial targets were downed: 15 were destroyed with direct fire and 37 disappeared from radar or were suppressed by electronic warfare. Revenues from the regulated LNG business segment amounted to EUR 15.0 million in the first quarter of 2025, remaining at a similar level compared to the same period in 2024 (EUR 14.9 million). The terminal's regasification and reloading volumes reached 8.7 TWh, which is 1.7 TWh higher than in the same period in 2024 (7.0 TWh). Revenue from commercial LNG activities in 1–3 months of 2025 amounts to EUR 2.5 million, which is higher than in the same period of 2024 (EUR 2.1 million). In 2016, the federal government launched an inquiry, or investigation, to try to find solutions to why this group has faced an increased rate of violence. This inquiry came as a result of years of protests and advocacy by families of victims. According to commissioners who led the inquiry, the violence and injustice Indigenous women, girls and two-spirit people face is a 'national crisis.' In 2019, the commissioners of the inquiry, known as the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, published their final report.
