Tesla arson suspect arrested in Arizona after he allegedly set brand new Cybertruck on fire

Police in Arizona arrested a suspected arsonist at a Tesla dealership after he allegedly lit a newly delivered Cybertruck on fire. Mesa police responded just before 2:00 a.m. on Monday, April 28, to reports of an explosion at the Tesla Service Center in Mesa, Ariz. Witnesses reported smoke and flames near the building, which officers determined were coming from a newly delivered Tesla Cybertruck. Footage from Fox News affiliate, KSAZ-TV, captured federal and state law enforcement surrounding the Tesla dealership after the fire was put out. The arson suspect, identified by local police as 35-year-old Ian Moses, allegedly wrote 'THEIF' (sic) on the side of the dealership before setting the Cybertruck on fire. The footage captured the charred electric truck as investigators taped off the scene. No injuries were reported. During their investigation, police said they noticed a suspicious van parked nearby and observed a man riding a bicycle approaching and opening the van's door. 5 'THEIF' is written on the wall of the Mesa, Arizona Tesla Service Center on April 28, 2025. Mother horse, baby rescued from mud pit in Arizona

April 28 (UPI) -- A group of animal lovers came together in Arizona to rescue a mother horse and a foal stuck in a deep mud pit. Betty Nixon, of Friends of the Heber Wild Horses, said she was alerted Saturday morning to the plight of the mare and foal stuck in a pit near Heber-Overgaard. Nixon responded with a neighbor and discovered five people already working to rescue the horses. "When I got there, they had already pulled the foal out of the mud," Nixon told KSAZ-TV. "There was one gentleman named Andy, and he ended up being a major hero of the day because he went into that mud with no hesitation, which is kind of dangerous because you've got a wild horse that is thrashing in the mud trying to get out." She said it took over an hour to extract the mother horse from the mud. "We wanted to get the towrope under the torso behind the front legs, but there was no way to get the towrope underneath her under the mud and around her body," she said. The rescuers ended up tying a rope around the mare's neck and used a rescuer's lunch bag to keep the horse's head above water while they hauled her to safety. Nixon said the mud at U.S. Forest Service-managed watering holes has been a major problem for the wild horses lately. "When they get low, and they get muddy, I just go out several times a day, at least three times a day, let's just say, and check them to make sure nothing's stuck in there," Nixon said. Two horses in Herber-Overgaard couldn't make it out of a mud pit alone, and it took an entire team to save the day. It took seven people more than an hour to pull the helpless animals free.

'Where is he?' Arizona yoga instructor vanishes after going on blind date

A "magnetic" yoga instructor disappeared before a date in downtown Phoenix, prompting friends and family to alert authorities. Marcus Freiberger, 45, went missing after he was reportedly scheduled to go on a blind date in downtown Phoenix, Arizona, on Feb. 21. The 45-year-old was a go-to instructor at Melrose Yoga and lived with his beloved dog, Thomas. "He's a super young man, and he's the most personable individual and when you speak to his friends, they'll tell you he's just a magnet," his father, Dutch Freiberger, told Fox News affiliate KSAZ-TV. Dutch told the outlet that his son had a history of drug addiction and had participated in rehabilitation. He said that his role at the yoga studio was a good fit and that he was happy. The owner of Melrose Yoga, Forrest Kruger, told the outlet that Freiberger is an excellent instructor and has a lot of friends. "Kind of guy all of his friends were coming in here for his classes. I met lots of them. Nothing but positive things to say. He was a great guy, is a great yoga teacher, too. I took his class myself," Kruger said. "Where is he? What happened to him? He was making progress and doing all these great things and getting ahead in life, which is making him happy," Kruger said. On March 14, officers confirmed to Fox News Digital that they had conducted a follow-up on the case after Freiberger's parents reported him missing. "Freiberger has not been located, however there is nothing leading investigators to say he is in imminent danger," the Phoenix Police Department said. Freiberger was last seen at a parking garage in downtown Phoenix. He has a white 2021 GMC Sierra pickup truck with an Arizona plate reading 3MA66L. He is 6'0" and weighs 225 lbs, with dark hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Phoenix Police at 602-534-2121.
