Wheatley Homes communities were assessed by Keep Scotland Beautiful, the national environmental charity helping create cleaner and greener local environments. Keep Scotland Beautiful (KSB) joined Wheatley Homes staff and tenants to assess neighbourhoods, inspecting back courts and open spaces as well as foyers and stairwells. NETs staff tidying up Macgill Drive in Edinburgh Laura Henderson, managing director of Wheatley Homes East, added: 'We want our communities to be places people are proud to live in and this award from Keep Scotland Beautiful is a tribute to the hard work and dedication of our environmental staff. 'They work hard to make sure our neighbourhoods always look their best for our customers.' Wheatley Group, Scotland's leading housing, care and property-management group, teamed up with Keep Scotland Beautiful in 2016 to help improve neighbourhoods. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad The KSB report stated: 'The tenement property scoring benefited from the overall excellent condition of the external grounds; including the physical condition of the building walls, absence of obstructions in the guttering, and cleanliness and condition of the access paths and back court hard standing. "The internal environment of the tenements also performed well, driven by the excellent condition of the communal spaces; with brickwork, paintwork, and flooring all presenting as clean and in good condition, with no visible presence of damage, anti-social markings, or vandalism to be accounted for.' Paul Wallace, head of operations with Keep Scotland Beautiful, said: 'I'd like to congratulate Wheatley Homes for achieving such high standards in our recent assessment. We were so impressed to see excellent commitment and pride of all the staff and tenants involved who are working hard to improve and make their communities better. 'Our work with Wheatley, through a bespoke version of our National Award for Environmental Excellence® has spanned a number of years. It provides a framework for continual improvement, recognising and awarding best practice in environmental management, maintenance, waste management and community engagement. The properties were presented well and scored highly and it was clear there was a real sense of pride from the staff.' It was previously reported that more than 1200 tonnes of waste were lifted from Wheatley Homes communities, and 13,600 stairwells cleaned, by NETs staff in 2024. Wheatley's NETs have trained 14 Wheatley Homes customers, in partnership with Keep Scotland Beautiful, to assess green spaces and identify any areas where improvement can be made.

Keep Scotland Beautiful (KSB), the national charity helping create cleaner and greener local environments, assessed Wheatley communities in March and has given each RSL the highest grade possible. KSB assessors joined Wheatley Homes staff and tenants to inspect neighbourhoods, focusing on cleanliness of back courts and open spaces as well as foyers and stairwells. Wheatley's environmental staff litter pick in the north west of Glasgow Since partnering with KSB in 2016, this marks the first year that every Wheatley community, spanning central Scotland and Dumfries and Galloway, has achieved this prestigious five-star standard. In Glasgow, Wheatley communities in the north east scored an 82.4%, north west received a score of 81.5% and 82.2% in the south of the city. In Dumfries and Galloway, Wheatley Homes communities scored 83.4%, Wheatley Homes East communities received a score of 87.2% and Loretto Housing an 82.3%. Khee San's underwriting deal for rights issue lapses after delay in prospectus registration
KHEE San Bhd (KSB) has terminated its underwriting agreements for a proposed rights issue with warrants, after failing to register the abridged prospectus with the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) by the stipulated deadline of July 4, 2025. In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the confectionery group said its agreements with M&A Securities Sdn Bhd, Kenanga Investment Bank Bhd and Malacca Securities Sdn Bhd – signed in November 2024 and later supplemented – have ceased to be in force. As a result, all underwriting obligations have lapsed. 'The board will deliberate on the new underwriting arrangement(s) in respect of the rights issue with warrants and will make the necessary announcements in due course,' the company said. The rights issue forms a key component of KSB's broader regularisation plan, which includes a scheme of arrangement, share capital reduction, an employees' share scheme, and amendments to its corporate structure. The group fell into Practice Note 17 (PN17) status in November 2021 and is seeking to restore its financial position and preserve its listing status on Bursa Malaysia. As part of the proposed rights issue, KSB had planned to issue up to 960.96 million new shares and 549.12 million warrants on the basis of four warrants for every seven rights shares subscribed. Priced at 10 sen per rights share, the exercise was expected to raise between RM65 million (minimum scenario) and RM96.1 million (maximum scenario). KSB previously described the underwriting agreement as a sign of stakeholder confidence in its recovery. Its executive chairman Yong Loong Chen said in a statement in November 2024 that the company had delivered seven consecutive quarters of profits and outlined plans to accelerate growth both locally and internationally. Proceeds from the fundraising were earmarked to increase production capacity via new high-speed manufacturing lines, expand distribution to markets such as New Zealand, Mauritius and Taiwan, and support the launch of new products. M&A Securities is the principal adviser for the rights issue. –TMR

KSB rises on securing major order from L&T
KSB rose 1.33% to Rs 828.80 after the company received a significant order from Larsen & Toubro (L&T) for the supply of boiler feed pumps to NTPC's supercritical power plant projects. The order includes 15 sets of main boiler feed pumps, booster pumps, motors, and accessories for the Gadarwara STPP Stage-II (2x800 MW) and Nabinagar STPP Stage-II (3x800 MW). Deliveries are scheduled over 2028 months, with payments linked to project milestones. KSB manufactures a range of standard industrial end suction and high-pressure multistage pumps, submersible motor pumps, monoblock pumps and other value-added parts for the agricultural, wastewater treatment, energy (nuclear and conventional power), and oil and gas sectors, as well as other industries. Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is an Indian multinational engaged in EPC projects, hi-tech manufacturing, and services. Shares of Larsen & Toubro shed 0.48% to Rs 3,651 on the BSE.
