City's Aman Chauhan joins India U-19 team
Kanpur: City lad Aman Chauhan has been selected by the junior selection committee of
BCCI
in Indian Under-19 team which will visit Australia in Sept to play three one-day matches and two multi-day matches.
Aman is a prolific run scorer and he had scored highest runs from UP in Vinoo Mankad Trophy.
He is right hand middle order batsman. At present he is being trained by Arvind Singh Solanki former Ranji Trophy players.
Last year, another lad Adarsh Singh had represented Indian U–19 cricket team. Kanpur Cricket Association officials including chairman Sanjay Kapoor, S N Singh and Kaushal Kumar Singh congratulated Aman for his selection and hope that he would score for Indian team.
Chess tournament on Aug 1: Around 140 boys of class IX to XII th from 28 schools will participate in two-day KSS Zone B Chess tournament at Sughar Singh Academy Koyala Nagar on Aug 1 and 2. According to Hemlata Shukla, principal of host school, the championship will be of six rounds. On the first day, four rounds ties would be held, while remaining two rounds would be played on the next day. Top three teams and five top players would be felicitated after the final round.
