In light of the swift advancements in the automotive industry, staying informed can prove to be difficult. Nevertheless, HT Auto is dedicated to delivering prompt updates on important changes within the field. Below is a summary of the key highlights from Wednesday, April 30. Lamborghini Temerario launched Lamborghini India has officially unveiled the all-new Temerario, priced at ₹ 6 crore (ex-showroom). This high-performance plug-in hybrid supercar replaces the legendary Huracan in the brand's lineup. Following its global debut in August of the previous year, the Lamborghini Temerario has made its way to the Indian market in just over eight months. This new supercar signifies a major transition for the brand as it incorporates a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain, merging exceptional performance with enhanced electrification efficiency. Powering the Temerario is a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine paired with three electric motors, mirroring the design established by Lamborghini's flagship model, the Revuelto. The V8 engine alone produces 789 bhp and 730 Nm of torque, while the electric motors contribute an additional 295 bhp and an impressive 2,150 Nm of torque. The total output reaches 907 bhp, allowing the supercar to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 2.7 seconds, with a maximum speed of 343 km/h. The PHEV system is powered by a 3.8 kWh battery, which can be fully charged in 30 minutes using a 7 kW AC charger, and regenerative braking also aids in recharging the battery during operation. This supermotorcycle was initially presented at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, and the filing of the design patent suggests that TVS may be planning to introduce it in India. Currently, the launch timeline for the RTS X remains unknown. If it is launched, it will compete with the KTM 390 SMC R. (SAVWIPL) has initiated a recall of its locally manufactured vehicles, including the Skoda Kylaq, Slavia, and Kushaq, as well as the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus, due to defective rear seatbelts. According to information submitted to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the recall addresses a problem with the rear seatbelts in all affected models. The recall impacts 25,722 Skoda vehicles produced between May 24, 2024, and April 1, 2025. Additionally, 21,513 units of the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus, manufactured within the same timeframe, are also included in the recall. All vehicles are assembled at the company's Chakan facility in Maharashtra for both domestic and international markets. As detailed by Skoda Auto India to SIAM, the affected Kushaq, Slavia, and Kylaq models feature a defective rear seatbelt buckle latch plate that could potentially fracture during a frontal impact. Furthermore, the webbing of the rear center seatbelt assembly and the buckle of the rear right seatbelt may also fail, posing a safety hazard to rear seat passengers. TVS RTS X design patented ahead of launch, will rival KTM 390 SMC R

TVS RTS X will use a new 300 cc engine that is called RT-XD4. TVS RTS X is build around a trellis frame that is suspended by USD forks in the front and a monoshock at the rear. TVS Motor Company has filed a design patent for its RTS X motorcycle. This supermotor motorcycle was first showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 and with the design patent filed, it seems like TVS might be having plans to launch it in India. As of now, we do not know the launch timeline of the RTS X. However, if launched, it will go against KTM 390 SMC R. However, sometimes the brands only filed patents to protect the design language of a product which also makes sense considering that the RTS X gathered a lot of attention at the motor show. What will power the new TVS RTS X? TVS RTS X will get a new 300 cc engine which is called RT-XD4. It made its debut at MotoSoul last year. TVS employs a combination of four dual technologies in the RT-XD4 engine. This includes dual overhead cams paired with a downdraft port, enhancing the engine's ability to rev higher and improve overall performance. The engine features two oil pumps within a split chamber crankcase, ensuring optimal lubrication and torque across all ranges. Additionally, it is equipped with a dual cooling jacket cylinder head, comprising a water jacket on the top and an oil jacket beneath, which further enhances cooling and contributes to superior performance. Lastly, the dual breather system effectively mitigates oil contamination and minimizes oil consumption, thereby ensuring consistent performance over extended periods. The TVS RTSx concept features the company's newly developed RT-XD4 engine which was first showcased at the TVS Motosoul 2024 It puts out 34 bhp at 9,000 rpm and a peak torque output of 28.5 Nm at 7,000 rpm. It gets liquid-cooling along with water and oil jackets. The gearbox on duty is a 6-speed unit that comes with a slip-and-assist clutch. The engine comes with ride-by-wire throttle and there is also a bi-directional quickshifter. What underpins the new TVS RTS X? In terms of hardware, the concept bike is built on a material trellis main frame with a cast aluminium subframe. Up front it gets 43 mm USD forks with 180 mm travel, while at the rear it features a solid die cast aluminium swing arm directly hinged monoshock, pre-load adjustable suspension with 180 mm travel. Braking duties are handled by a 300 mm disc at front and 240 mm disc. Check out Upcoming Bikes In India. First Published Date: 30 Apr 2025, 12:24 PM IST

KTM Halts Production In Austria Again

The troubles don't seem to end for KTM. Barely a month after re-starting production, after a 90-day 'self-administration' period, the Austrian motorcycle manufacturer has stopped production at its Mattighofen plant. Reports suggest that KTM has stopped production until the end of July 2025. New CEO Gottfried Neumeister said that the company had parts and components to manufacture only 4,200 motorcycles but the company hasn't revealed what those 4,200 motorcycles are. With KTM's current financial troubles, the suppliers don't have the confidence that KTM will pay them back and therefore, sourcing parts is becoming a challenge for the company. KTM says that it will be difficult for the company to pay back its creditors 600 million euros before the deadline of May 23, 2025 and this certainly doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in its suppliers. With the production being stopped earlier this year for three months, there were no new parts that were ordered. And now the company faces shortage of components to manufacture motorcycles. Recently, KTM announced that from June 1, 2025, KTM will stop the distribution of CFMoto and its EV sub-brand Zeeho two-wheelers in the countries of Austria, Germany, UK, Spain and Switzerland. KTM was distributing CFMoto & Zeeho two-wheelers in the said countries since 2013. The decision is said to be 'mutual' and the manufacturing agreement between the two companies will continue as before. Also, CFMoto will continue to sell/distribute KTM motorcycles in China. Reports in EU suggest that a new importer will assume the responsibility of distributing CFMoto two-wheelers in the above-mentioned countries from June 2025. In India, since the beginning of 2025, KTM has launched the 390 Adventure along with the 390 Enduro R in February and March, with the KTM 390 SMC R slated for a launch soon. While KTM technically does sell its big bikes here in India, its maximum sales come from its current motorcycle range of up to 400 cc.
