‘Tip A Cop' collects tips for Special Olympics Hawaii for 2025
HONOLULU (KHON2) — The annual 'Tip A Cop' fundraiser will be held starting Feb. 28, where the public can see police officers outside their fundraiser turns cops into waiters all for a good cause.
Tracey Bender from Special Olympics Hawaii said the 34th annual Tip A Cop fundraiser will last through March 2 at participating restaurants, including several California Pizza Kitchen locations.
Guests can visit the Ka Makana Aliʻi, Kahala Mall, Kailua Town Center and Pearlridge Center CPK locations to participate in the experience.
During Tip A Cop, volunteer, off-duty law enforcement officers serve customers by busing tables, filling water cups and bringing out food to raise awareness and funds for our athletes and programs.
Bender said since its inception, Tip A Cop has raised $546,092 for Special Olympics Hawaii.
Proceeds from this fundraiser will help Special Olympics Hawaii continue to provide year-round sports training, competition and health, wellness and leadership programs for over 2,800 athletes statewide with intellectual disabilities, free of charge.
California Pizza Kitchen is also celebrating its 40th anniversary. General Manager of the Kahala Mall California Pizza Kitchen Thomas Kehoe said they are giving away 'Thank You Cards.'

Kehoe said every guest receives a card during their visit, which they'll open on their next trip to reveal a surprise. Every card is a winner, with prizes ranging up to $40,000.
