Dallas Cowboys All-Pro kick returner KaVontae Turpin is facing misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana (less than 2 ounces) and unlawful carrying of a weapon. Turpin, 28, was arrested by the Allen (Texas) Police Department on Saturday, according to online records, and booked into the Collin County Jail. He posted $1,500 bond and was released from custody on Sunday. Turpin, who signed a three-year, $18 million extension in March, became the first Cowboy with punt, kickoff and receiving touchdowns in the same season in 2024. He finished with a career-high 31 catches for 420 yards and a pair of scores. A two-time Pro Bowl selection, he led the NFL return average (33.5 yards) in 2024 and took one back 99 yards for a touchdown against the Washington Commanders. In three seasons with Dallas, Turpin has played in 50 games (two starts) and compiled 44 receptions for 556 yards and five TDs.
