NWS warns of slow moving thunderstorms through Indianapolis Wednesday evening
After a day of hot weather, the National Weather Service warns that Indianapolis can expect showers and thunderstorms throughout the evening of June 25.
NWS meteorologists note that scattered storms developed in central Indiana in the early afternoon and will slowly be moving east across the state.
These storms are likely to produce strong wind gusts as high as 50 mph, lightning and could cause localized flooding, according to Kacie Suson, NWS Indianapolis meteorologist.
The scattered thunderstorms are expected to continue throughout the evening and travel along the I-70 corridor.
