What will we get to see in Kaiju No 8 Season 2? Arcs explored
Kaiju No 8 Kaiju No 8 dropped in 2024, and the anime was a masterpiece. And now, the audience is eagerly waiting for the second season to drop, which is going to drop in 2025 itself, most probably. The first season of the show consisted of 12 episodes, and we are expecting to see something similar in the upcoming season. In the first season, we got to see multiple arcs in action, like the Monster Sweeper Arc, Defence Force Recruitment Exam Arc, Defence Force Training Arc, Daikaiju Attack Arc, and Kafka's Integration Arc. Now, it's time for the second season, and here we are with the list of arcs that you will possibly get to see in Season 2. But before that, let's have a look at a recap of Kaiju No 8 Season 1. Kaiju No 8: Story so far In the first season of Kaiju No 8, we got to see Kafka Hibino as a clean-up worker with all hopes lost of joining the defence forces. However, his encounter with a young lad named Reno ignites the fire again. And then the story moves forward with Kafka becoming a Kaiju and adopting the code name Kaiju No 8. He then joins the Defence Force along with Kikoru and Reno. His goal in the first season was to hide his identity and focus on eradicating all the threats that came in the way of the Defense Force. However, the cover is blown when he goes on to save the Tachikawa base from a disaster. Kaiju No 8 Season 2 expectations and arcs In Kaiju No 8 season 2, we may get to see the Kaiju Weapon Arc and the Compatible User Arc. The Kaiju Weapon Arc deals with the deployment of weapons made from the remains of the Kaijus in a battle. Moreover, this arc also focuses on the internal conflicts in the Defence Force, leading to a lot of chaos. Next in the line is the Compatible User Arc , where we will get to see the characters testing their compatibility with the weapons made in the previous arc. All in all, the next season is going to be a little mature and solid than the previous one for sure. Also Read: Does Naruto die in Boruto? Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon movie review – sci-fi anime compilation not up to par
2/5 stars Anime compilation films are far from a new phenomenon. Since the 1970s, feature-length re-edits of animated television series have been a mainstay in Japanese cinemas. Offering diehard fans the opportunity of a big-screen refresher, while giving franchise newcomers a crash course that is all killer no filler, every self-respecting series from Space Battleship Yamato to Mobile Suit Gundam has swung for a splashy theatrical cash grab. Recently, Demon Slayer and Attack on Titan both scored notable box office hits with compilation films made up of almost entirely of previously-seen footage. Play Now comes Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon, 80 minutes of distilled footage from the first season of the science-fiction coming-of-age series adapted from Naoya Matsumoto's digital manga of 2020. In addition to seeing the best moments cherry-picked from its 12 episodes, audiences are rewarded with the bonus episode 'Hoshina's Day Off', a frivolous digression of little substance.

Monster mayhem meets midlife-crisis and comedy: Why Kaiju No 8 is not to be missed
Imagine this – a boy who wants to make it big and be one of the most accomplished people in a field highly looked up to. He wants to play shoulder-to-shoulder with his friend, who happens to be the best in the profession and an inspiration to many. However, his powers are not at par! But, something changes midway, a transformation every anime storyline ever, you will say. Be it My Hero Academia's Midoriya with no quirks, or the failure Naruto who just wants to be at par with Sasuke or Black Clover's Asta or the recent favourite Sung Jin-woo, all their storylines are awfully similar. The same holds true for Kafka Hibino and/or Kaiju No 8. However, what makes the show stand out, besides the stunning animation and the even more stunning opening sequence, is how comedy is so seamlessly integrated into the narrative without taking away the emotional depth of the the trailer of Kaiju No 8 here: In Kaiju No 8, we have the failure Kafka, who had once promised his school friend Mina that he would stand beside her to fight the Kaijus (monsters). However, despite 12 attempts, he just couldn't qualify for the Defence Force exam. Almost giving up, and stuck at cleaning the intestines (read poop) of dead and disfigured kaijus, he finds hope when Ichikawa joins his team. On one such cleaning mission, they encounter a Kaiju. One thing leads to another and Hibino transforms into a monster himself! Yeah, shit happens (way more in this anime).advertisementFunnily, 32-year-old Kafka manages to also finally pass the Defence Force exam, not without becoming a laughing stock, and not by using his powers. But, the secret has to be maintained, or else he faces a chance of being annihilated. Will he be able to do that (after all, even Sung Jin-woo had to finally retake the exam and give himself away)! But, who are we kidding here? Most fans must have already read the manga, and by now have probably watched and re-watched the anime. But, like me, if you are late to the party, don't be disheartened. If Hibino can join Defence Force at 32, is it ever too late? In fact, if you are yet to watch it, the best part about starting with this one could be the crisp 12 episodes of 23 minutes each, which can be binge-watched in a day or exchange, you get some amazing animation (of course), a part rib-ticklingly funny anime with solid action, a show that celebrates friendship and of course, inspirational stuff that can motivate you to achieve whatever you want (just like it did to me to ram the keyboard right after finishing it). Some parts Attack On Titans and some part One Punch Man, Watch it for its refreshingly relatable protagonist who's more 'why am I still here?' than 'believe it (Dattebayo)!'Kaiju No 8 is available on Crunchyroll. The second season will be released in July 2025.
