Kaizer Chiefs Nabi gives a report on his first season

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has told the media that his laboured first season with Amakhosi was expected. According to the Tunisian coach, a transition season is always tough to endure. Amakhosi finished in ninth place with only eight wins from 28 matches. However, Nabi ended the club's decade-long trophy drought with the Nedbank Cup title. 'We knew that this season was going to be tough given the process we are engaged with as a club,' Nabio told Kaizer Chiefs' official website. Image: SuperSport Website 'But after going everything this season, now there is a clear path to know what we need to do and what decisions we need to take in order to improve next season. 'That said, not finishing in the top eight is a disappointment, although it doesn't undermine the effort the players have put in and what we have achieved, which is to win the Nedbank Cup. 'Not every team can say they have won a trophy this season. Kaizer Chiefs fans should take pride in that and enjoy it. 'I want to remain honest, as I have been since the beginning, so I say that we came here to rebuild the team and at the start of that process one can't expect results to flow immediately. 'All of our decisions are governed by the process. Whether we win or lose, at this stage it is about assessing where we are in the process of converting this team into a successful one,' the Kaizer Chiefs mentor added. Kaizer Chiefs boss makes bold FIFA claim

Nasreddine Nabi has put a unique perspective on Kaizer Chiefs' season. Fair to say, it's been a mixed bag. Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi isn't dwelling on the club's failure to finish inside the top eight places. 'I'm not going to be influenced by today's result and undermine what the team has won this season,' he told SuperSport TV . 'FIFA recognises two champions, the one who wins the league and the one who wins the cup. 'I think nobody can undermine what the team has done this season, they won a cup when we were 10 years without a trophy. But for me it's not even about the 10 years, for me it's winning an official title from FIFA,' Nabi added. 'On Friday, we had a conversation with the chairman, and we know exactly what needs to be done in terms of players,' he said as per FARPost . 'I will not say how many or which kind of players we need, but the recruitment department is working very hard, and everyone knows the needs for the team. Kaizer Chiefs pre-season plans revealed after poor season

Kaizer Chiefs are planning another ambitious return to Europe for their pre-season preparations, as the club aims to bounce back from a frustrating 2024/2025 Betway Premiership campaign. Coach Nasreddine Nabi, in his debut season with the Soweto giants, led the team through a rigorous pre-season in Turkey. Despite critics blaming that European camp for some of the club's league shortcomings, the Chiefs' management appear undeterred. A source has revealed that the club's technical team strongly recommended another European pre-season tour ahead of the 2025/2026 season. 'Yes, apparently the technical team has recommended that they have the pre-season camp in Europe again,' the source confirmed. 'No. Not at the moment. I can't say which country as they are looking at the availability of training fields, accommodation as well as other important logistics. But it's believed that they will be going to Europe for a pre-season camp.' Preparations for the trip are reportedly in the final stages, with logistics being handled to ensure a smooth experience for the squad and technical staff. Management believe that a return to Europe will better equip the squad both mentally and physically for the challenges of the upcoming season. Upon returning from Europe, Kaizer Chiefs will reportedly participate in domestic pre-season tournaments to further fine-tune their strategies and build momentum. 'Of course those pre-season tournaments will still be held at the start of next season,' the source added. 'It's just that we are not yet sure whether it will be the Toyota Cup or other tournaments but the team is working with sponsors in that regard. Apparently when the marketing department and the sponsors finish the logistics then we will know which pre-season tournaments will be played this time around.' The club is said to be in close discussions with various sponsors to lock in these fixtures. Kaizer Chiefs' 2024/2025 season ended in disappointment. Finishing ninth on the table, the Glamour Boys missed out on a top-eight finish. And the chance to compete in the MTN 8 as well. Their offensive struggles were glaring, with only 25 goals scored throughout the campaign. A stark contrast to league champions Mamelodi Sundowns, who netted 65. Even more concerning, Chiefs conceded 35 goals. A statistic that underlines the need for serious tactical and defensive improvements. Should Kaizer Chiefs do a another European pre-season? Ex-Bafana captain criticises Kaizer Chiefs' poor season despite cup victory

TOUGH SEASON Former Bafana captain Neil Tovey criticised Kaizer Chiefs' poor league performance despite their Nedbank Cup win, highlighting the club's need for consistent results. Picture: Itumeleng English/Independent Media Former Bafana Bafana skipper Neil Tovey says Kaizer Chiefs winning the Nedbank Cup did not make it a good season, after the Soweto Giants finished outside the top eight for the second year in a row. Earlier this month, Chiefs won their first piece of silverware in 10 years when they beat rivals Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final in Durban. However, after finishing 10th last term, another middling season outside the top eight has materialised once more. Since the start of his tenure at the beginning of the season, Nasreddine Nabi has called for patience from the club's supporters.
