Somasila waters will be brought to Marripadu soon: Anam
Nellore: Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy has said that efforts were being made to bring Somasila waters to Marripadu mandal very soon. The Minister along with Udayagiri MLA Kakarla Suresh participated in various developmental programmes being taken up at a total cost of Rs 5 crore including laying foundation for Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) works with Rs 95 lakh, construction of additional classrooms and providing infrastructure facilities with Rs 2.5 crore at Kasturibha Gandhi Girls Vidyalayam (KGGV), cold storage and products collection buildings and inauguration of 8 cement roads in at Marripadu mandal on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that as part of this initiative, the government has decided to bring 5 tmcft of Somasila water by completing Naidu Palle and Pinguru reservoirs with the aim of providing drinking water for 1 lakh families and 80,000 acres for agriculture operations in coming two years. While recalling that when he was the finance minister in united AP, it was proposed to take up the project at a cost of Rs 1,800 crore but unfortunately such proposals were dropped in the middle for various reasons including State bifurcation and negligence of rulers. The Minister said that after the formation of TDP-led coalition government in 2024 elections, it was Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu who had given his nod to the project when he brought the issue to Naidu's notice. The government is likely to release the funds very soon. The Minister has said that as part of initiative in providing jobs to unemployed youth, the Andhra Pradesh Skill Development Corporation (APSDC) would conduct a Mega Job Mela on August 1 and 2 which aims to provide jobs to 1,400 people in Atmakur. He said that as many as 30 multinational companies, and 20 State-level companies will participate in the two-day event. The Minister said that job-seekers should enroll their details in the APSDC website through QR code. The Minister also inaugurated a 10-day mega free Eye Camp and Mobile Surgical Bus of Sankara Netralaya organised by Korrapati Priya couple at ZP High School. Atmakur RDO Pavani, Somasila SE Venkataramana Reddy, district horticulture officer Subbareddy, SSA APO Venkatasubbaiah and others were present.

Free medical camp concludes in Nellore, 883 patients tested
As many as 883 patients underwent the required tests at the nine-day-long eye camp conducted at Vinjamur town of SPSR Nellore district by experts from Chennai-based Sankara Nethralaya. The camp was inaugurated by Udayagiri MLA Kakarla Suresh at YR Junior College on June 6 and concluded on Sunday (June 15). It was sponsored by Segu Sateesh, an NRI hailing from this region, and his family members Segu Subba Rao and Nirmala. Dr. Gajanand Kumar Varma, senior ophthalmologist from Sankara Nethralaya, said that a total of 887 people from the predominantly rural Vinjamur area had undergone eye test and 188 were selected for free eye surgeries in the modern mobile operation theatres brought all the way to the little town. Similarly, 45 patients were recommended to undergo eye surgeries at Chennai. Sankara Nethralaya's Public Relations Officer Ranjith Kumar acknowledged the munificence of the Segu family and appreciated BJP district former vice president Yellala Raghu Rami Reddy and Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Saikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM) State president Prof. Y.V. Rami Reddy for making arrangements for the eye camp.

Minister inaugurates dialysis centre in Vinjamuru mandal
Nellore: Health Minister Y Satya Kumar Yadav claimed the coalition government has brought drastic changes in medical sector to provide quality treatment to the poor. Along with Udayagiri MLA Kakarla Suresh, he inaugurated five-bedded dialysis centre at Primary Health Centre in Vinjamur mandal on Saturday. The Minister said that the government is spending Rs 4,200 crore under NTR Vaidya Seva scheme to make quality treatment available to the poor as treatment in corporate private hospitals became expensive. The government also providing an injection that costs about Rs 45,000 for free of cost to rescue patients suffered with severe heart stroke. He added that it was proposed to conduct cancer detection examination for 4 crore cancer patients apart from 3 crores cases that were detected till date in the entire State. Minister Yadav pointed out that while the previous YSRCP government had set up 21 Dialysis centers under Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Scheme during its five years tenure, the TDP-led coalition government has set up as many as 18 dialysis centres within 10 months. He alleged that the hike in dialysis cases was due to the consumption of spurious liquor promoted by previous YSRCP government. To overcome this problem, the government has decided to establish number dialysis centres under PMNDS, he added. Later, the Minister has inaugurated Intensive Care Unit for infants at BJP-run Jayabharath Hospital. Former MLAs Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy, Khambam Vijayarami Reddy, Venteru Venugopala Reddy, former ZP Chairman Chanchelababu Yadav, RTC Zonal Chairman Sannapureddy Suresh Reddy, Jayabharath Hospital Manager Guru Prasad and others were present.
