American woman leaves Brits horrified at 'diabolical' jacket potato toppings

An American woman has been jokingly dubbed a 'war criminal' by Britons after sharing her 'diabolical' jacket potato toppings. Taking to TikTok, Kalli Agudo from Washington proudly shared her take on the ultimate British comfort food - but she was quickly put in her place by furious foodies on the other side of the Atlantic over her filling. A staple meal in households around the UK, the jacket potato is often paired with toppings including tuna, cheese and baked beans. But as she prepared her spud on camera, Kalli topped it with a healthy serving of Greek yoghurt, raw onion and mayonnaise - leaving Britons reeling. The clip has since amassed 2.5 million views and thousands of comments from furious viewers. At the beginning of the clip, Kalli admitted she 'judges British people for what they put on potatoes', but acknowledged her recipe was 'grosser'. She began by telling off British people for calling the meal a jacket potato and insisted the correct term was 'baked potato'. Kalli then explained that she was using microwavable potatoes to save time on cooking. 'Yes, in America, we have these special potatoes that only require you to microwave them.' Much to the horror of her British viewers, Kalli revealed the unconventional jacket potato toppings - admitting that she soaks her spuds in Greek yoghurt, raw onion and mayonnaise 'Sure, maybe they're full of carcinogens but i's very convenient for a five minute dinner because it microwaves in five minutes.' Kalli told viewers she was making a 'Mexican jacket', first topping the creation with a packet of Mexican cheese. Next, she added low-fat Greek yoghurt, reasoning the choice by saying it was lower in calories than sour cream' and that it 'makes it more liquidy'. However, the amateur cook said she does not add butter to her potato, stoking fury among viewers. 'I kind of want to put butter on it today, but I'm not going to because it's not that good for me,' she said. Kalli then added diced white onion and pickled jalapenos to the spud before remarking the concoction looked 'so good'. Finally, she added a dollop of 'delicious' mayonnaise and a sprinkling of Mexican spice Tajín. The TikToker has since paid the consequences for her peculiar picks as potato-proud Brits dashed to the comments to critique her choices After posting the clip online, Kalli has felt the wrath of British viewers, who commented in their droves on the video criticising her potato-making skills. 'You judge British people when you put a [children's yoghurt] Frube on a jacket,' one wrote in reference to her using Greek yoghurt as a topping. 'Girl I'm no longer judging the Brits. All eyes on you,' a second wrote. 'That isn't a jacket potato that's a war crime,' another wrote. 'The yogurt and mayo, I'm scared of you,' one British viewer wrote. 'As an American, you are not allowed to judge British people for what they put on their baked potatoes….Greek yogurt and MAYONNAISE is a diabolical combination.' It comes as Britons fall back in love with the humble spud and vendors like Spud Brothers and Spudman storm social media with their viral jacket potato combinations. The Preston-based Spud Brothers have amassed 3.6 million followers on their TikTok and have since expanded their product to Soho in London. Fans across the country have gone wild for the topped potatoes, with foodies online boasting about travelling miles just to get their hands on the spuds. Additionally, a recent survey revealed that a growing number of office workers are choosing a baked spud for their lunch. According to the survey, carried out by Food products supplier Nurishh, 88 per cent of respondents said they have swapped out sushi, salads and shop-bought sandwiches for alternatives. A further 62 per cent of those surveyed said they had turned to the carb to save money and 82 per cent claimed they were the ultimate mid-week lunch. Amongst the top 10 fillings of choice for the iconic dish was just cheese, cheese and beans, and just butter, the survey found.

Shreveport media personality ready to share digital talents, expert insights at SocialCon

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A Shreveport entrepreneur and content creator is among those tapped to serve as an ambassador for an upcoming event meant to connect those seeking online success and partnership with those who have achieved it or can provide guidance. SocialCon is the first of its kind for Shreveport. It is slated for June 7, 2025, at the Eleven Events Center downtown and is the brainchild of Kalli and Ryan Combs. The couple has tapped several notable creators from Louisiana and elsewhere, like New Orleans native, rapper, author, and educator Dee-1, whose Instagram following is approaching one million. Tommy W. Nard is a Shreveport native, founder of Nard Music Group, and creator of Culturally Connected TV, a podcast that features newsmakers, trendsetters, local events, and entertainers. He will serve as one of the event's ambassadors. Are you one of Shreveport's TikTok Titans? 'I believe SocialCon is very important for people to network, content is everything, I tell people. I just told someone the other day that content lasts forever,' Nard said. He says SocialCon is an opportunity for people to come and understand some key elements of content creation that will bring visibility and potential revenue. 'This is an opportunity for Social Con – for everybody to come. And I just understand the power of content, the power of curating content that will make, change, move the world. You know, I'm saying in an impactful way, no matter if it's negative or a positive way.' Nard did not always dream of being a content creator. He has no 'formal training' in film or television. His family owns Lil' Animals Seafood on Line Avenue in Shreveport; his father, Tommy Nard, Sr., is pastor and founder of Family Life Church of Shreveport. He said his journey into content creation and Culturally Connected TV was born after a friend, who he calls 'the Oprah of the South,' needed his help, and he needed hers as well. Boss Brothers launch radio show for kids 'So I was like, you know what? Let's put this together. And we kept thinking about what can we call this? Because it's not just for me, it's for everybody. So culturally connected, culturally, okay, culture,' Nard explained. 'I want to connect everybody, you know, in a positive light.' With negative depictions of Shreveport in abundance, Nard and his partner set out to spotlight the good things happening in the area and highlighting changemakers and people doing their best to support the city they love. He understands that positivity is slower to spread than gossip and untruths, but in the three years since launching Culturally Connected TV on YouTube, his consistency is paying off. 'So I'm thankful. SocialCon is going be a great opportunity for different other content creators to come together,' Nard said he his hopeful about the rich networking experience that SocialCon will bring to Shreveport. One element of SocialCon that Nard said he is looking forward to the most is the opportunity to meet with other creators one-on-one and discuss their struggles to gain a following or where to start. 'I'm here. I'm here to help you. I'm here to support. And this is this. This means everything, someong seeing the ambassador in me. I didn't think that I was. You know, it's just doing God's work and what he's downloaded in me and the vision that I wrote on the well one day. He (God) says, write, the vision and make it plain.' Now, Tommy W. Nard's vision is clear and highly ambitious. He wants to become a media mogul producing content for audiences far beyond Shreveport and the ArkLaTex. He applauds 50 Cent's actions as he acquires the elements needed to build his G-Unit empire, but Nard is not waiting for Mr. Jackson. His advice to those working to make a name for themselves in the digital space, 'continue to do what you do, but do it with excellence. With excellence and keep God at the center.' Content creators, influencers, small businesses don't miss SocialCon 2025

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A Shreveport couple is upping the social media game and allowing local creators, digital marketing strategists, and businesses looking to increase their online visibility to network and showcase their offerings. SocialCon 2025 is an event slated for June 2025 and is the brainchild of entrepreneurs Kalli and Ryan Combs. The Combs say SocialCon presents a unique opportunity to Shreveport and the surrounding areas because there isn't another event that will bring local and national content creators together to learn and grow businesses. 'My husband and I have been in the social media world and digital world for a little while for ten years, and as we've been in this space in Shreveport, there has been a scene of tons of content creators and entrepreneurs and influencers that not only want to get into social media more but also have a following and growing a following online,' Kalli Combs said. The couple is firmly grounded in social media. Kalli's background is in digital marketing. Ryan, who his wife manages, has been a content creator for about 10 years. He said his sneaker love caused a pivot in his content. Are you one of Shreveport's TikTok Titans? Social Con Awards calling all creators 'I started off in music, but I've actually just switched over into sneaker, you know, influencing. So now I've always been a sneaker lover, I've been using that space to basically broaden people's ideas of shoes that are less expensive and shoes that are very, very expensive,' Ryan Combs said. Before you turn your nose up at the idea of 'sneaker influence,' creating an 'aspirational lifestyle' is a big business that brings in tens of billions of dollars in influencer marketing, according to Revolt. There are levels of influence one has and a wide variety of ways to convert a love of athletic footwear into direct deposits. When asked why they chose Shreveport over another more 'popping' social media scene like Austin, New Orleans, or even similarly-sized Birmingham, Kalli's response was as expected, 'Why not Shreveport.' 'We have a growing community here. I think with the success of Humor and Harmony and 50 Cent and all the other things that are coming, it's a unique opportunity to align with the movement. Our economy is rapidly, you know, growing. It reminds me back when I was in my twenties and we had the Red River district scene and it was thriving. It was things to do,' Kalli Combs said. 'So I think we're right on the cusp of that again. So we wanted to not only create this space for entrepreneurs and influencers and content creators, but it's a unique opportunity as well to be involved in where the city is going in the future in the digital space.' They are blazing a brand new trail by bringing creators from other areas to network and share experiences and insights with local businesses and creators. 'We're going to be talking about different things and social media, whether it's authentic storytelling, how to build your brand, how to connect with brands and collab with brands online,' Kalli Combs said. They will learn from people who have already seen success and built brands through their social media platforms. Another lesson the couple expects attendees to take away is that creating a brand on social media is NOT EASY. 'Yeah, you know, I'll tell you one thing. Going viral is hard. So it's a lot of work, but it's consistent. It's consistency. That's what I've learned from Kalli, being in social media management. It's a lot of consistency. So a lot of work that you got to put in long nights,' Ryan Combs explained. There's another part of SocialCon that is very exciting – awards submitted by and voted on by online users. Kalli Combs explained, 'We're going to add something called SocialCon Awards, and that is a community-involved award voting where people can vote on different categories and we will announce the winners essential.' More Entertainment News If you know and love an online creator, you should head to the SocialCon awards page on their website and nominate your fave for awards in one of the seven content categories. According to Kalli Combs, nominations are open for any creator as long as they fit the criteria, and like any democratic online award – vote as many times as you like. Kalli and Ryan Combs believe that SocialCon will open the Shreveport creator community up to the more than $20 billion influencer marketplace. 'There's so many opportunities. If you are creative enough and committed to pursuing whatever it is that you love, there's something in that space for you,' Kalli Combs said.
