BRS leaders skip Kavitha's dharna
Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders stayed away from attending the dharna organised by MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha against issuing notices to party supremo and her father K Chandrashekar Rao. A few loyalists and followers of Kavitha only were present in the protest on Wednesday at Dharna Chowk in Hyderabad. The Telangana Jagruti leader took a swipe at Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for maintaining silence on the construction of projects on river Godavari by the Andhra Pradesh government. She demanded the Chief Minister to lodge a complaint with the Union government against AP for constructing the Banakacharla project on Godavari. Kavitha questioned Revanth Reddy for maintaining silence on his AP counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu's quick moves to complete the Banakacharla project without water allocations and permissions. She demanded the CM to bring the issue to the notice of Apex Council and Union Jal Shakti ministry and protect the interests of the Telangana state. The BRS rebel leader also criticised Union Ministers G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay for not opposing the Banakacharla project which she says is detrimental to Telangana's interests. Explaining the reasons for taking up the Kaleshwaram project by the previous BRS government, Kavitha said that the biggest lift scheme in the country provided a facility to utilise 140 tmcft of Godavari waters. The Pranahita–Chevella project envisaged by the Congress government in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh could only draw 16 tmcft of water. Announcing that she will launch a movement demanding to allocate more water for Telangana, Kavitha said that the government owed the responsibility of the repairs of the damaged barrages, including Medigadda, without any delay. Only the Kaleshwaram project will fetch the water needs of Telangana in the future, she said, appealing to BJP MP Eatala Rajendar to come forward and protect the state's interests in water allocations and utilisation.

BRS MLC K Kavitha takes part in Dharna against notices issued to former Telangana CM KCR over irregularities in Kaleshwaram project
Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], June 4 (ANI): Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Wednesday took part in the Telangana Jagruthi Maha Dharna against the notices issued to BRS president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao by the Justice PC Ghose Commission probing the alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project. 'The notices given to KCR garu are nothing but political notices to smear his name. My only demand is that the water of the Godavari River should be protected, and Telangana should get 1000 TMC of water. CM Revanth Reddy should write to the Central government immediately to stop the Banakacherla project by the Andhra Pradesh government,' Kalvakuntla Kavitha told mediapersons. Earlier on May 21, Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi MLC K Kavitha criticised the PC Ghose Commission for summoning former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in a probe related to irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project during the BRS regime. In a post on X, Kavitha emphasised that Kaleshwaram was built for the welfare of farmers and asserted that it is part of a 'calculated political conspiracy' against KCR. 'The notices to KCR Garu over the Kaleshwaram project are part of a calculated political conspiracy to tarnish the image of a true people's leader. Kaleshwaram was built for the welfare of farmers and future generations, not for politics. Today, this inefficient Congress government is undoing the very progress Telangana fought for,' Kavitha said. The BRS MLC further highlighted that KCR has devoted his life to Telangana and the transformation of barren lands into fields of prosperity and is now being targeted by the 'visionless' regime. 'KCR Garu, who has devoted his life to Telangana, transforming barren lands into fields of prosperity, is now being targeted by a visionless regime. No vindictive Government can diminish his legacy. The truth will prevail, and history will remember who stood for the people and who tried to bring them down,' K Kavitha said. Earlier, the Justice PC Ghose Commission issued summons to former Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), former Minister Harish Rao, and BJP MP Etela Rajender, who also served as a minister during the BRS regime in the ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP). The Commission, which has been probing financial and procedural lapses in the multi-crore irrigation project, directed the three political leaders to appear for questioning in the first week of June. According to the sources, KCR was asked to appear before the Commission on June 5, followed by Harish Rao on June 6 and Etela Rajender on June 9. (ANI)

Kavitha asks poets to raise voice on injustices and shortcomings
Hyderabad: BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Monday called upon the poets and literary figures to highlight shortcomings in governance, reminding that there is the nature of questioning in Telangana land itself. She participated in the 'Yuva Keratalu Kavi Sammelan' organised by Telangana Jagruti on Monday at Telangana Saraswatha Parishad in Abids on the occasion of Telangana State Formation Day. She reminded that Telangana Jagruti had worked to ensure that the cultural heritage, glory and uniqueness of Telangana will last for hundreds of years only if young children learn Bathukamma songs. Kavitha said that Telangana literature would flourish for hundreds of years with the works of young poets. She said that poets under the age of 35 participated in this gathering and recited poems. 'KCR stood like a compass and a beacon and guided the movement. Today is the day when he achieved a separate Telangana state with the struggles he waged and the sacrifices of hundreds of people,' she said, adding that poets should not bow down before any ruler. They should always point out the shortcomings in the administration. She suggested that poets and literary figures should do this work regardless of who is in the position of the ruler. 'A poet is one who fearlessly tells the truth under any circumstances. Poets and literary figures have wonderfully narrated the struggle for a separate Telangana state, the sacrifices of the martyrs, and the betrayal of this region in the undivided state,' said Kavitha.

Letter penned for party's betterment, says Kavitha
Hyderabad / Mancherial: A day after her explosive interaction with the media, BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Friday said that she had written the letter for the betterment of the party. The BRS leader said that she was targeted in the party and her letter was leaked and hence she could not meet the party president K Chandrashekar Rao. Talking to the reporters in a chit chat during her visit to Mancherial, Kavitha reiterated that she had written the letter. She said that she was anguished over the developments in the party hence she wrote the letter for the betterment of the party. 'I have expressed what the common party worker wanted from the party to the supremo KCR. I had worked hard for the party from the beginning. I had experienced a lot of suffering for the last ten years and had been tolerating it all. Many things are happening in the party but I have always tried to develop the party. Despite all this, a few issues have pained me. They tried to have an alliance with the BJP which had sent me to jail. I felt discomfort when there was a proposal to merge the party into BJP when I was in jail,' said Kavitha. The BRS leader said that no party has survived after having an alliance with the BJP. Hence she said she suggested the party leadership not to have an alliance with the BJP. 'I had made my point in the form of a letter written to the party president. I even tried to meet the party president and wanted to inform him. Though I had a chance to meet my father, I could not meet him because of the letter getting leaked. I had written letters even in the past but this time it was leaked. The party should find out who had leaked the letter,' said Kavitha, adding there was no separate agenda for her. She said that she will not allow the BRS to be merged with the BJP. It may be mentioned here that the letter written by the BRS MLC Kavitha had sent tremors within the BRS and her comments made on Friday further added fuel to fire. Kavitha said that the BJP was carrying out its misdeeds in the name of Operation Kagaar. 'When the Maoist Secretary Nambala Keshava Rao died in the encounter, they were not even allowed to have final rites. The BJP does not have the culture even to handover the dead body to the family for the final rites. Despite the demand for stopping Operation Kagaar, the murders are continuing,' said Kavitha condemning the attitude of the BJP. The BRS leader said that the Congress has shown its anti-Dalit attitude by insulting the Dalit leaders. She recalled the comments of MP Vamshi that he was not invited for the Saraswati Pushkaralu. She recalled that the Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka was insulted in the Yadagirigutta Temple. The approach of the Congress and BJP are against the social fabric of the country, she alleged.
