The new office-bearers of Sri Kamakshithayi Malleswara Swamy temple trust board were formally sworn in at a ceremony at Indukurupeta in Nellore district on Sunday. With T. Bhaskar Naidu as chairman, a team of nine members were sworn in at the temple, in the presence of the Kovur MLA and TTD trust board member Vemireddy Prashanthi Reddy.
The 100-year old temple has been in the limelight in recent decades, with the locals believing the deity to be their guardian and saviour, recalled Ms. Prashanthi Reddy, while appealing to the new team to safeguard the temple's rich legacy, and ancient traditions.
She also reiterated the NDA alliance regime's commitment to safeguarding Hindu Dharma by developing temples. While offering her support to develop pilgrim amenities at the temple, she also assured to chip in if the new board brought the pending issues to her notice.
