Kapil Sharma To Stop Shooting For His Netflix Show After Firing At His Canada Cafe?

Last Updated: On July 10, several shots were fired at a newly opened cafe in Surrey, British Columbia, owned by comedian Kapil Sharma and his wife, Ginni Chatrath. After firing at Kapil Sharma's newly opened cafe in Canada, the comedian's security has been stepped up. As reported by the news agency IANS, personnel from the Mumbai police visited Kapil's Mumbai residence on Friday, following which his security has been beefed up. Moreover, it remains unclear if Kapil will resume shooting for his ongoing The Great Indian Kapil Show. A source cited by the news agency claimed that Kapil is yet to decide if he will go to the shoot of his Netflix show in Filmcity. More details are awaited. What Happened At Kapil Sharma's Canada Cafe? On July 10, several shots were fired at a newly opened cafe in Surrey, British Columbia, owned by comedian Kapil Sharma and his wife, Ginni Chatrath. The cafe- named Kaps Caffe- had just celebrated a soft opening, drawing attention for its elegant pink-and-white interior, floral accents and a menu of artisan coffee and desserts. However, celebrations turned to chaos when the eatery was vandalised. While no injuries were reported, the property suffered damages. Authorities believe that the attack was a targeted strike by the Laddi gang linked to the banned Khalistani terrorist outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). Laddi is wanted in India for multiple terror-related offences and is alleged to be the mastermind behind several recent attacks on Hindu leaders and pro-India figures. Kapil Sharma Yet To Break Silence On The Incident While Kapil Sharma has not issued any statement as of now regarding the incident, the Kap's Caffe team issued a statement on Friday which said, 'We opened Kap's Caffe with hopes of bringing warmth, community, and joy through delicious coffee and friendly conversation. To have violence intersect with that dream is heartbreaking. We are processing this shock, but we are not giving up." The statement also thanked patrons for their support during this difficult time. 'Your kind words, prayers, and memories shared via DM mean more than you know. This café exists because of your belief in what we're building together," it added. Concluding on a hopeful note, the café wrote, 'Let's stand firm against violence and ensure Kap's Caffe remains a place of warmth and community." view comments First Published: July 12, 2025, 09:51 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
