Team behind Ramen Dayo to open new spot in Glasgow
After its popular pop-up in the southside of Glasgow in 2022, Yakitori Shack is the newest addition to the city's food scene. Taking over the space vacated by Ramen Dayo on Argyle Street in the heart of Finnieston, Yakitori Shack will open its doors on Tuesday, May 13. The focus will be binchotan-grilled yakitori and sides straight from the robata grill, rice & noodles and bold, simple flavours built for pairing with cold beer and cocktails. The kitchen centres around binchotan charcoal, the clean-burning, high-temperature charcoal imported from Japan and considered the best charcoal in the world, for the way it smokes and sears. READ MORE: Eight Glasgow restaurants for al fresco dining this Spring This tiny takeaway serves some of the best street food you'll find in Glasgow I swapped lab coats for chef whites and now work at a world famous location Yakitori Shack favourites from the original pop-up will return, including the skirt steak skewer, peanut butter noodles, and the elote japonais (corn ribs slathered in Kewpie mayo, Sriracha and grated hard cheese). Fans of Ramen Dayo will be thrilled to see a few beloved dishes return too, like the Karaage chicken, but with a brand-new twist. Inside, you'll find custom-made Japanese lanterns and noren curtains, sourced straight from Japan, a subtle nod to Tokyo's backstreet grill joints. Downstairs, there is a traditional izakaya style private dining area, with three separate rooms, sitting up to 10 people. With a late licence, Yakitori Shack will also be serving up an extended drinks menu and regular DJs.

Richmond's Super Bowl takeout deals: Wings, ribs, tacos & more

Abuelita's is offering a Super Bowl party pack with 10 quesabirria tacos, plus chips salsa and queso for $40. Lee's Chicken offers a 12-piece family meal with sides and biscuits for $42, on Sunday and every day. Nokoribi (inside The Veil Scott's Addition) once again has its Chicken Party Special with spicy drums, Togarashi-spiced wings and Karaage chicken nuggets, plus sides. $55, feeds 4-6 people. Order by Saturday. ZZQ's big game specials include a 3-pound rack of ribs for $55 and a half-dozen smoked wings for $16. The Smoky Mug has a Buffalo Wing Party Pack with chips, queso and salsa starting at $27. Order by Wednesday (or until they sell out). Mayor's Meats in Carytown has three options: a party pack with ribs, chili and 24 pigs in a blanket; a Hot Dog Crave Case with 12 wagyu dogs; a Sausage Crave Case with a variety of sausages. Ranges from $45-$60. Yes, but: Super Bowl party prices will be a mixed bag this year, with some staples still notably costlier compared to pre-pandemic times. Prices for meat, poultry, fish, eggs, fruits, veggies, alcohol and soft drinks were all up in December 2024 relative to December 2019, per consumer price index data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The bottom line: Don't let that stop you if you can help it.
