Man gets life in jail for killing GF's stalker
Bareilly: A Bareilly court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh for strangling a youth who had been harassing his girlfriend and interfering in their relationship in Nawabganj area in 2022.

Karan Valmiki, a local butcher, was in a relationship with Priya while Jhamman Lal, 23, developed an interest in hr and tried to end their relationship by informing her brother. Jhamman also began stalking her, which led to a confrontation with Karan.
On Aug 30, 2022, police found Jhamman murdered. His brother filed a complaint against three people at Nawabganj police station. However, the investigation revealed that Karan had committed the murder.
Additional district govt counsel (ADGC) Rajeshwari Gangwar told TOI, "The court of ADJ Tabrez Ahmed found Karan Valmiki guilty of murder and awarded him life imprisonment with Rs 1 lakh fine. The court has also ordered to pay the recovered fine to the brother of the deceased as compensation."
