The film had Dilip Kumar and Noor Jahan in the lead roles and Ghulam Mohammed, Jillo, Latika and Shashikala in supporting roles. Mohammad Rafi appeared in a special appearance in it. This film became the highest grossing film of the year 1947, which was released in theatres on May 23 of the same year.
