Shura Chairman Congratulates Shura Council Secretary-General on Arab Parliamentary Excellence Award
Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, congratulated Kareema Mohammed Al Abbasi, Secretary-General of the Shura Council, on receiving the Arab Parliamentary Excellence Award in the category of 'Secretary-General of Parliament' by the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union. The award was presented during the participation of the Parliamentary Division's delegation in the 38th Conference of the Union, held in Algeria. According to Bahrain News Agency, the chairman emphasised that this award is a new addition to the achievements and successes of Bahraini women and reflects the continuous support they receive from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa; His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister; and Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW). He commended the dedication and contributions of the Secretary-General to advancing the work of the Shura Council's General Secretariat, and her efforts to strengthen the role of its members as part of Team Bahrain in supporting the Council's work. The Chairman expressed pride in the presence of Bahraini women at national, regional, and international levels, and in their notable achievements that have earned recognition in international forums.

Bahrain Participates in ASGP Meeting Alongside 150th IPU Assembly
Tashkent: Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary General of the Council of Representatives, and Kareema Mohammed Al Abbasi, Secretary General of the Shura Council, attended the meeting of the Association of Secretaries General of Parliaments (ASGP) held in Uzbekistan. The meeting is part of the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), taking place from April 5 to 9. According to Bahrain News Agency, the ASGP meeting focused on the theme 'Meeting the Expectations of Young Parliamentarians,' addressing strategies to support their active engagement and evolving role within parliamentary institutions. Al Buainain and Al Abbasi emphasised the importance of empowering youth across various sectors, noting Bahrain's progress in enhancing youth participation in democratic processes, particularly within parliamentary work. They highlighted initiatives such as training programmes and events designed to develop young people's skills in legislative and parliamentary affairs. They also underscored Bahrain's efforts to encourage youth-led projects that contribute to the Kingdom's digital transformation, particularly in the parliamentary sector. These initiatives reflect Bahrain's commitment to integrating youth perspectives into legislative processes and leveraging technology to enhance parliamentary operations.

These certifications support digital and technological advancements that enhance legislative work and confirm the effectiveness of strategies pursued in this field.
