Guests say one type of wedding where couples shouldn't get gifts
Three-quarters of people say destination weddings, where the guests have to travel abroad to get to the venue, are too expensive. The research from Klarna comes ahead of August 30, the most popular day to get married. 60% of people say couples shouldn't expect wedding gifts if the wedding is abroad. To cut costs, 1 in 5 skip the hen/stag do, while 28% say they re-wear outfits, give smaller gifts, or share rooms. While 40% have used their savings to cover costs, nearly 1 in 5 (18%) have used a credit card or interest incurring loan.
