For the latest updates, follow us @ArabNewsSport The team convincingly beat Geekay Esports 4-1 in the grand final to claim the lion's share of the $1 million prize pool, pocketing $400,000. Following their Birmingham Major triumph in March, Karmine Corp's performance in Riyadh firmly establishes them as one of the leading contenders in Rocket League this season. The win was a strong comeback after a setback at the RLCS Raleigh Major, demonstrating their resilience and elite form heading into the RLCS 2025 World Championship. Karmine Corp set the tone early in the grand final, racing to a 3-0 lead without conceding a single goal. Although Geekay Esports managed to respond with a match win to stave off defeat, the French club closed out the series decisively on their second match point opportunity, sealing a dominant championship win. Geekay Esports reached the final after a thrilling semifinal clash against Team Vitality. The closely fought encounter went down to a Game 7 overtime, where Geekay scored a golden goal to secure their spot in the final. On their road to the title, Karmine Corp defeated Team Falcons, a result that further boosts their reputation as frontrunners ahead of the RLCS World Championship. Their consistent and commanding performances earned them 1,000 Club Championship points, propelling them 34 places up the rankings to joint-11th overall. Reflecting on the win, Karmine Corp's Axel Touret expressed his pride: 'I'm feeling great, it was a good match, we played really well. I love my team. It means a lot [to win], the team will have more money now, so that's great. I'm really happy to be in Karmine Corp, we just won, so I'm really proud of everyone.' Samy Hajji was named Sony MVP for his outstanding performances throughout the tournament. After his third major Rocket League title and second consecutive Esports World Cup win (having previously done so in 2024 with Team BDS), Hajji praised the Saudi tournament scene, saying: 'I always play really well in Saudi Arabia, I think it's the hospitality, and even the tournaments. I love them, they are incredible.' Meanwhile, Team Falcons secured third place after edging out Team Vitality in the decider, earning 500 Club Championship points. Although they missed out on the title, Team Falcons extended their lead in the Club Championship standings, holding a 500-point advantage over second-placed Team Liquid with three events remaining. Four titles will be settled at Esports World Cup
RIYADH: Four competition winners will be declared after the Week 6 Championship Weekend of the Esports World Cup 2025. As the race for the Club Championship heats up, Team Liquid leads the standings. Rocket League Rocket League in Week 6 of EWC 25 could produce a winner from anywhere. The EWC 24 winners are here but split across new rosters — two are representing Team Vitality, with the other playing for Karmine Corp — and the field is open for anyone to take the title. There are other key contenders though, such as Team Falcons who, before a ball was hit, were on an 18-match win streak, making them very much the team to beat. In fact, at the past six events Team Falcons have attended, they have won each one. PUBG Battlegrounds PUBG Battlegrounds is back to round out the battle royale action in the Club Championship, and it looks likely to have an enormous impact on the overall standings. Both Team Liquid and Team Falcons, the current top two in the Club Championship, are contenders in PUBG, but after two days of action, Falcons have impressed while Liquid have underperformed. Could that end up being crucial in the Club Championship come the end of the weekend? Other contenders have shown up, with the likes of ROC Esports getting off to a great start and Twisted Minds, who also are still in with a shot at Club Championship glory, starting to heat up as we head towards the grand finals. Teamfight Tactics There has been some great action in Teamfight Tactics so far in Week 6, and it is heading for an explosive finish. Team Vitality and Twisted Minds, two teams who were considered top contenders coming into the tournament, were eliminated before the top eight, meaning they take home no Club Championship points from what should have been one of their strongest titles. However, with team Liquid and Team Falcons suffering the same fate, at least the gap to these teams has not been extended. The 2024 champions Wolves Esports have looked impressive, and are considered favorites again this year, but rivals T1, who lost in last year's final, will be looking to avenge that loss should the two teams meet again. Tekken 8 In Tekken 8, the opening day of competition rekindled some rivalries and furthered the battle for regional supremacy. With South Korea and Pakistan considered the top two countries in Tekken 8, everyone had eyes on how each region would fair early on. Impressively, six of the seven South Korean players competing on Day 1 qualified for Stage 2 of the competition, but only two of the five Pakistani players could make it through. One of those Pakistani players was Arslan Siddique, highly regarded in the scene, and one of the favorites to take the tournament, although he did have to fight through the lower bracket in his group after a loss to South Korean player Jeon Sang-hyun. Can he bounce back and finally take an EWC title or will another competitor take it from him yet again? Club Championship standings Heading into the penultimate week, the Club Championship is firming up, with four sides emerging as the most likely to take the grand prize. Team Falcons and Team Liquid continued their breakaway from the pack in Week 5, and this weekend represents a key opportunity for both clubs, with huge potential for another change at the top of the table. Neither side was able to pick up any points in Teamfight Tactics; but given that Team Liquid is competing in fewer games this week than Team Falcons, it could be a key way for them to stay ahead. Team Falcons are still competing in PUBG, Rocket League, and Tekken 8 this weekend, meaning there are many more chances for them to catch Team Liquid. In the chasing pack, there are two names to look out for — and Twisted Minds. have already secured 200 points from Teamfight Tactics, but PUBG and Rocket League will be the ones to watch, because both clubs are still involved.

Karmine Corp Wins The ‘Rocket League' RLCS Birmingham Major
There's a new RLCS Major champion. French organisation Karmine Corp has won the Rocket League RLCS Birmingham Major, beating The Ultimates 4-0 in the grand final in front of a packed crowd in Birmingham, England. Karmine corp were fairly dominant throughout the RLCS Birmingham Major, going 3-0 in the Swiss Stage by taking down Wildcard, Geekay Esports and Team Falcons. However, the first match of the swiss stage against underdogs Wildcard was a close 3-2 victory, which led some fans to question if Karmine Corp was on form entering the tournament. However, the survived the early scare and easily made it through to the quarter final stage. Once the playoffs began, Karmine Corp seemed to turn things up a gear. Their 4-2 victory over NRG was a little closer than they would have liked, but an absolutely dominant 4-0 victory over Furia in the semi final was a statement of intent heading into the final. On the other side of the final were The Ultimates, who had a 3-1 record in the Swiss Stage, featuring a loss to NRG but victories over Luminosity Gaming, Gen.G and Falcons. In the playoffs they had a couple of close games, beating Vitality 4-2 in what many considered to be a surprise win, then taking down NRG in a revenge game 4-3 to make the final. The first game of the final between Karmine Corp and The Ultimates went to overtime following a 1-1 score at the end of regulation, but as always seems to be the case in overtime, it was Karmine Corp who score the crucial goal to go up 1-0. Game two was a slightly different story, with Karmine taking an early 2-0 lead and never letting The Ultimates get back into things until a consolation goal in the dying moments. The game ended 3-1 to Karmine Corp, putting them in a commanding position very early on in the final. FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder Game three was a little more entertaining, with Karmine Corp scoring first, but The Ultimates then fired straight back to even it up. The action was back and forth until Karmine Corp eventually scored to once again take the lead, and they held on to go to championship point. With three championship points, Karmine Corp could have taken their foot off the gas in game four, but that's not the way this team does things, once again taking a fairly early lead and pulling out some incredible defensive plays to keep hold of that lead. Karmine Corp would keep that 1-0 lead, becoming major champions in dominant fashion. The win sees Karmine Corp become RLCS major champions for the second time, having previously won the winter major in the 22/23 season. This time the win nets them $102,000 and crucial RLCS points which puts them in prime position to qualify for the Rocket League World Championship later this year. But the title of being major champions once again will be the real prize for them.
